    • Where are the cottages?
When I think of a cottage I think small, quaint, rustic, vintage, homey. I just received my first issue (Winter 2023) and was dissapointed that none of the homes featured fit what I think of as a cottage. There was one article on vintage bread boards that I found interesting. The cover is beautiful and boasted "Style Tips for Cozy, Warm Retreats" The majority of the homes featured appeared to be either new construction or modern remodels. Two were described as farm houses, one a Swedish design. I was hoping to find inspiration for our 1200 sq. ft. cape. What I found were cookie cutter remodels with open concept kitchens, bulky modern furniture in large rooms with laminate flooring. I want to see craftsman, capes, and other small quaint dwellings filled with history and charm. ... show more
