  • Excellent Resource for Woodworking Enthusiasts
"The Complete Book of Woodworking" is a fantastic resource for anyone looking to hone their woodworking skills. The book is filled with over 40 easy-to-follow projects and plans, making it perfect for both beginners and more experienced woodworkers. The step-by-step guides are incredibly clear, supported by over 200 photos that visually explain each technique. What I particularly enjoyed about this book is how it covers a wide range of essential skills, techniques, and tools. The carpentry basics are well-explained, providing a solid foundation for anyone new to woodworking. The tips and tricks scattered throughout are practical and have already proven useful in my projects. However, one thing to note is that while the projects are diverse and interesting, some may find them a bit simplistic if they’re looking for more advanced challenges. Additionally, the book focuses heavily on traditional techniques, which is great for building foundational skills but might leave advanced woodworkers wanting more. Overall, "The Complete Book of Woodworking" is a great investment for those wanting to dive into woodworking or refine their existing skills. It's well-organized, informative, and inspiring, making it a valuable addition to any woodworker's library. ... show more

  • Good selection of projects
If you are a beginner woodworker the first 1/3 or so of this book will be good for you. It give detailed information on different tools, types of wood, different techniques, and an all around great beginner or even refresher lesson on basic woodworking. The projects are well rounded with some easier things to build and some more difficult things but none too difficult. The only negative of the book for me is that the website that is referenced for obtaining plans no longer exists. I was excited I could actually download plans for a few things I wanted to build but then was immediately disappointed when I tried going to the website but couldn’t. ... show more

  • Great book only one minor flaw
I think this is a great book. It uses projects to teach a variety of woodworking skills and techniques. It has great photos and explains how to do the tasks clearly and safely. The reason I deducted a star is because it only provides a cut list for materials, not a sheet goods layout. I am experienced at laying out sheet goods, but it takes practice and time. I would much rather have it on the page for me to simplify my work flow. It also would nice to see the example so you can learn how to do it for your own projects. ... show more

  • Perfect.
Must have for every woodworking book collection. It's one of those generational kind of books that get passed down from grandfather to father & father to son.

  • Hobbie ideas
This book was a big hit with my nephew to whom I gave it as a gift. He is very talented and enjoys working with wood to produce useful, beautiful and professional pieces. He loved the variety of projects and directions given in the book. A must buy.
