Features

  • FIRELINE: This is a microfused, braided bead thread consisting of Dyneema, a gel-spun polyethylene which is known as the strongest fiber, per diameter, ever created. It has an unbelievably high tensile strength and has been recommended in numerous how-to articles on beadworking.
  • DETAILS: Made in the USA, our Fireline is 4lb. test and comes in a smokey grey color. The cord measures .005 (.12mm) in diameter. The 125 yards are wound on a spool that is secured with a clear plastic clip. Keep your thread secure and organized.
  • EASY FINISH: Because this is a super strong material, we recommend using sharp, precise scissors for cutting the string. However, the thread can also be burned instead of snipping. A thread burner is easier to use and more precise. This method seals the ends, which prevents frayed edges or split ends.
  • VERSATILE: Originally used by fisherman as a high-quality fishing line, this thread took off in the jewelry making world. It can be threaded on a needle and used for stringing or bead weaving. The thread does not stretch, or tangle and the strength of the cord is essential when working with heavier beads and findings.

  • The best yet!

I own an Etsy shop where I hand make rosaries and BY FAR the most annoying part has always been the jewelry cord. This stuff is AMAZING! It’s strong, super thin, doesn’t tangle, and is basically invisible when I tie it. It doesn’t leave any bulky lumps when I secure the knots. 10/10, will absolutely buy more in the future! ... show more

  • So far so good.

I purchased this product to refine one of my favorite wind chimes. This was my second try. So far, it hasn’t broken again in our high winds. The first try was with a filament line. Came apart first night.

  • Excellent thread
Just what I needed for my project. Excellent for 15/0 sized beads. Strong tinsel strength too.

  • Awesome thread, but where’s the clip?
Size: 6lb,50 yard Color: Smoke Grey Number of Items: 1
I’ve been beading for several years but this is my first time with FireLine. (I have always used Wildfire) This is quite different, which was expected with it also being sold as fishing line. I think I’m going to really like it. I’ve always stayed away from fishing line; I can’t stand that stuff! But this is very different. It doesn’t tangle like regular fishing line and holds its shape when you curve or bend it. It has a smooth feel and is quite strong. It is just stiff enough to pick up a few small beads without a needle. The color says smoke, but if you look at my pics, compared to white beads it looks black to me. I ordered a 50 yard roll of 0.006 but received a 55 yard roll of 0.008. I’m not too concerned about the size though. Again looking at my pics, you can see that a 2 mm bead will easily take multiple passes. All in all I think it will be an awesome thread to work with, not as a replacement to Wildfire, but as another choice in my bead toolbox. This may seem trivial to some, but I dropped one star because to secure the spool you only get a sticker instead of the plastic clip like Wildfire has. I will have to dig around for a spare clip, because there’s no way that sticker is going to hold. If it weren’t for that small annoyance this would be a 5 star product. ... show more

  • Amazing bead string.

I needed a super strong cord to make a garland out of plastic beads and Barbie shoes. I probably went overboard with the strength but I would be devastated if the string broke under the weight. It turned out really well and the cord is thin and undetectable on the tree. Worth the price!

  • Always my go to

This Beadsmith Fireline beading thread is like the superhero of the bead world – it's so strong; I'm pretty sure it moonlights as a stunt double for Spider-Man. I use a lot of Swarovski crystals and they do. It cut through this thread. I do have to use a different type know when attaching more thread, but I love to fly fish so I know a lot of knots that work great. Do not use your best scissors to cut the thread. I use an older pair and place the thread far back on the blade and it cuts clean. I’ve been looking for something else to use, and I keep coming back to this. ... show more
