  • Worth EVERY Penny-
As a life-long Star Wars fan since seeing the first film in 1977 at the age of 13, the film franchise has always captivated me with its tales of heroes and villains, Ultimate Good versus Irredeemable Evil, and the fight for justice in a galaxy that was corrupted. Part of my fascination has been in the concept art and minor stories developed for the films, characters, places, and the machinery that makes this space opera so grandly amazing, but at the same time believable. The Art of Star Wars books, as a series, has become something of a minor obsession of mine, and this latest book is no exception. Lavishly illustrated with hundreds of sketches and full color artwork, this book is a masterpiece of unfolding a film's journey from concept to finished work, all through the work created by dozens of artists to give life to the end of the Skywalker Saga. Its pages clearly unfold in chapters regarding the various aspects of its production; character and costume concepts, aliens, droids, and the set pieces of the worlds explored in the film, all of them breathtaking in their own right. It is in my opinion worth every penny you might spend on such a book, and will become a cherished item in my collection, and as a fan-based costume designer, one I will refer to countless times. A must-have for fans of the Star Wars saga. ... show more

  • Great Art
Regardless of your feelings on the movie, this book is packed with incredible concept art by VERY talented artists! If you're a Star Wars fan, you'll find some cool stuff in here. However, you may be slightly depressed by the good ideas in here that got cut in favor of more... questionable choices for the final film. ... show more

  • best StarWars Art book so far
i love the landscape format! I hope they do all future art books in this format. The quality of the art is amazing, best of the series in my opinion, and i like the non-linear content, grouped by subject such as Costumes, Props, Aliens, Robots, etc. although going through the movie chronologically makes sense too. ... show more

  • Great Art book as usual!
I actually like this artbook and I noticed most reviewers mentioned "no Palpatine, little bits on the Exgol and none on Final Order (besides the officers)." I personally don't mind the lack of Palpatine and the Final Order since I feel as though they were the last-minute add-on to the movie, which happens to steal the spotlight for Kylo Ren and the First Order. Sticking on the Dark side topic, the book focuses mainly on Kylo Ren and the First Order concepts. The idea concepts of Kylo Ren taking the throne and having the whole sith fleet being part of the First Order instead of them being overthrown by Final Order, as it is shown in the movie. So I appreciated this concept where the artbook is the one giving the "spotlight" for how awesome it would be if Kylo was the main villain instead of Palpatine. And showing how cool it would be if the First Order combined it resouces with the sith fleet, while still having their system still intact. Instead of being completely overthrown or forgotten just because the movie wanted to introduce a new system, the Final Order. So I feel the artbook gave a little justice for Kylo Ren and the First Order when the movie did them dirty, despite of being just a concept. The rest of the arts are worthwhile to look over and over again. Most of the concepts I'm seeing, I feel would've been awesome in the movie. Even Kylo has his own Star Destroyer. And the Star destroyer fleet factory made like the First Order symbol would've been so cool to see in a movie. Overall the whole idea of Kylo Ren and the First Order as being the main threat in the movie would've been ALOT better than Palpatine and the Final Order. And the artbook clearly shows it. So thank you, Phil, for sharing it with us. The only problem I have with this book is a lack of Duel Of the Fates art concepts. I assumed they delayed the release date just to add the DOTF arts concepts in the book but I guess I was wrong. I was looking forward to it and it's a shame not to see it as being part of the collection. But the arts that were in the book did show somewhat alternative ideas than what the movie has shown as I explained above, so it was not a huge loss, I think. ... show more

  • A gorgeous book
Another gorgeous collection of Star Wars concept art that shows many glimpses into what may have been. I'm very happy with my purchase.

  • Great Art But Not Everything's There
Lliked the book as much as the movie but it lacks some art of Palpatine, possibly to avoid spoilers. Still, I recommend this to any fan of Star Wars, the Sequels, or just concept art in general.

  • My husband loves it!
I purchased all three books...had to pre-order this one. My family is a huge Star Wars fan, especially my husband. He received all 3 books for his birthday. Beautiful artistry, notes about the movie...they are a great collector's set!

  • Beautiful artwork
Such a beautiful book. It’s filled with story art from the movies and it’s just breathtaking to see the details as it’s related to the characters and the story. Absolutely beautiful!
