Description

Ever dreamed of having a vending machine in your room? With this engineering kit, you can build and experiment with your own toy vending machine. First, follow the step-by-step instructions to assemble the machine. Then test and configure it to get it working perfectly. Load your vending machine with all kinds of small candies or prizes and you’re in business! Insert some coins and have fun watching them get sorted, perform stunts as they slide down the tracks, dispense prizes, and finally end up in the coin bank in the base of the machine. This awesome vending machine has four main interactive segments: First, you insert coins (quarters, dimes, nickels, and pennies) into the slot at the top and turn a knob to sort the coins. Then, the coins fall into an interactive coin track area where they slide down ramps, make jumps, and ring bells. Next, the coins fall into a device that allows you to make your “purchase” with the push of a button. Finally, your prize pops out of the machine, and the coin falls into the bank, sorted into neat stacks by denomination. The vending machine can sit on a tabletop or hang on a wall. A small key allows you to access the vending machine compartments for refilling the prizes.Explore lessons in physics, math, and mechanical engineering as you build and play with the vending machine. Learn about gears and other simple machines, gravity, forces, motion, and collisions. Try some simple math lessons related to the coins and money.

  • So neat! 9/10 DIY 7/10
I did have to tape the back a bit so the coins would fall in the right place, but it's pretty cool! Great idea and pretty good execution. Candy was in good condition but I will not be including it. My kid will love putting random stuff in this and it's super cool that she can switch up the fall obstacles, but coins do flop out of it. Not perfect, but good value for under twenty bucks. ... show more

  • Kids favorite
This product is super easy to put together. No tools required, just snap parts together by hands. The mechanics are so simple, there’s really no reason for it not to work except if you have a missing or broken parts situation. However, it does require that the instructions be followed carefully because some details are easy to be missed by a child, e.g., the orientation of certain parts. The finished product instantly became a hit with my 5 and 9 year old boys. They picked out all the smaller candies they got from the last Halloween, as well as coins from their piggy bank, and played with this candy vending machine nonstop. They plan on charging their friends for candies when they come for play dates and expect that they will gladly pay for them because of the fun of it. The boys also excitedly talked about where to source exotic candies to make their friends more motivated to pay, say, a trip to the Japanese store. Alternatively I think we can also turn it into a mini toys vending machine which is an added fun. On a final note, our kids are not looking to make money - their friends usually just come by anytime and rummage through our house for snacks. It’s really just for the fun of having a “vending machine”. ... show more

  • Many pieces to put together!
Make sure you set aside plenty of time to set this up! I thought it would be fun for my 7 year old son who loves putting things together and I to build this together. There are many small pieces and gadgets, so have lots of patience. It is easy to use once everything is set up. Materials are mostly made of plastic and it can easily be broken so be carful. Fun experiments included in the booklet! ... show more

  • Cheap and doesn’t work properly
Got this for my son for Christmas bc he really wanted the M&D snack machine but he’s a little too big for that. Thought this would be cool to design and change, but the green pieces chute don’t stay hooked on and everything falls apart. Like the back part that holds the money, the pieces that hold the candy while the money pushes back. It’s all plastic and it feels like if you press too hard or move anything tooo much, it will snap. Most coins just falls straight out from the top dispenser shoot. The small pieces of candy fall out bc when you close the dispenser there’s a small gap when the holder folds and the candy slips right out. It’s a mess. I hate this thing and I was so excited for Santa to upgrade my son’s “vending machine” request. Such a disappointment and waste of money. Don’t let the few positive reviews and videos posted fool you. ... show more

  • Fun to build and use
My son and I had fun building this and it works good to help him organize his coins. The candy is not great but still a fun prize to start. He enjoys choosing small toys to use as prizes for him and his brother. It was delivered on time with no missing parts and is a great size. Sometimes the coins fall out and don’t go through the organizer but that can be fixed it you tilt it back just a bit. It’s easy for him to use and reload the prizes. Would recommend ... show more

  • Quick assembly and very FUN!
My kids (mostly my 8 and 10 year olds) excitedly put this together with only gentle guidance from me. It was fascinating to see it all come together, and then to discover how it worked once it was finished. I pulled out a bag of coins and they gathered Lego minifigures, Polly Pocket mini dolls, candy, and assorted other items, and then played with it for literally HOURS. Next day, they did it again. And then again the day after that. They’re in love with this thing! ... show more

  • Cool concept but terrible execution
Bought this for my kids for Christmas. After they assembled it, coins would frequently get stuck in the slot and candy drawers wouldn’t open. The candy packs need to be opened and the candy removed before putting it into the machine slot. Additionally the machine falls apart frequently. For the price it’s hard to recommend as it’s cheap and flimsy and not much fun overall. ... show more

9 year old built it in an hour and was pretty proud of it. Plans to make his bro pay for taking his candy this way.
