Just one of the trays were broken so the perch wouldn’t go on. Does not come with good instructions so it took a bit to figure out. Other than that I think it will serve its purpose which is why I rated 3 stars

I love this and would have gave 5 stars but this chicken layer was not sturdy it would lean left yo right it's like building a bookcase with no backing it will not be secure I did add a back and is perfect now but for 129 I would think there should be a back to make it secure but I do like it chickens are laying eggs in it fine and it is very tedious to build but once adding a back with sheet metal I really do love this product I do hope the plastic with hold the test of time ... show more

These are nice looking nesting boxes, however my chickens repeatedly ripped the trays out of the bottom. Every day we came out to at least one tray laying on the floor of the coop. Perhaps my chickens are t-rex babies in disguise, but it doesn't feel very strong. A clip or something to hold them in would be easy enough to do and fix this issue. Easy to put together though and, maybe with milder chickens, it would work well. The roll-away design is fantastic! UPDATE: After several months I can say with confidence that these boxes are extremely flimsy. They do not even begin to hold up to the weight of a chicken, the jumping in and out, etc. Don't waste your money on them. ... show more

I had trouble with some of my ladies wanting to sleep (and thus poop) in the mounted egg baskets. I didn’t have any problems with these instructions at all. Start from the beginning and take your time and you really shouldn’t have any problems. If I can put these together and make them sturdy, anyone can. This is not for normal sized chickens but great for bantams. Does not come with fake eggs like it says. The directions are horrible!!! Metal is sharp so be careful.
