Style: USB Sharing Switch
Only paid about $15 after discount for the 2 pc switch, front ports can share 3 usbs (kb, mouse, other), plus 3.5mm speaker and mic. Great front facing screen with bright display showing which device is active and a dot to indicate if the hotkey is on or off. Operation is flawless. Automatic windows drivers work as expected, no additional install required. I am using this switch between my personal pc and my work pc which is fairly heavily locked down, and have no issues with it whatsoever. Switching is fast and takes only about a second once the key is hit if you use the keyboard/mouse shortcut, maybe 100ms if you use the SELECT button directly. This thing is built like a tank, the weight of it surprised me when I was unboxing it. I would not be surprised if the box itself outlives the usefulness of the underlying technology. I paid almost twice this price for the "amazon's choice" product for a USB switch, which is total junk in comparison. Plastic housing, dim indicator light (on the top, not on the front), 3-5 second delay switching between devices. I originally went looking for a replacement to see if I could find one that worked faster for about the same money, instead I found one that is 10x better for half the price.     • Best way to share keyboard without installing software on any computer

Pros: 1. Model is good quality. For a hardware only keyboard sharing solution, it is pretty good - however there were several issues to work through. 2. Hot keys have good configurability, I switched it from Rctrl to Lctrl and turned off the switch sounds on the hub itself. Cons: 1. it is doing usb pass;through meaning your device will disconnect/connect on switch. I thought it would virtualize the keyboard and mouse so that each computer thinks its connected all the time. Not a big issue after turning off usb connect/sounds on both computers. 2. There is small delay when switching using hotkeys. 3. Host computer sees the toggle hotkey being pressed. ... show more

Worked great except for some issues with adaptability. Also, you’re in for a lovely surprise and instructions reading session the first time you use your middle mouse button. In summary, monitor HDMI to KVM DisplayPort connections worked fine but KVM DisplayPort to PC HDMI/USB-C did not work. My setup is three monitors, DisplayPort, HDMI, HDMI; PC A with 3x DisplayPort and 2x HDMI; PC B with 2x DisplayPort, 1x HDMI, 1x USB-C. PC A works great when using the 3xDP ports, but after a great deal of debugging and trying different adapters, I couldn’t get all monitors working with the PC B HDMI or USB-C display connections. So, it seems that only KVM DisplayPort to PC DisplayPort connections work. ... show more

Style: USB Sharing Switch
I've never seen something like this before, makes sense though, so I bought one. Works like a champ, very solid build. The case is made of metal, gotta love that! There is a sound card built in, did not need that but OK. Both of my computers said "new sound device, let's use that shall we". So I had no sound until I switched them back to the intended sound devices. I haven't tried the built in sound yet, but I have some nice DAC's that I'm using, so I probably won't need that feature. Once I reset my sound the computers seem to keep using the intended sound device. I was worried I would have to fight with this all the time. I have a mechanical (wired) keyboard and mouse, they did not work in the USB 2.0 ports labeled Keyboard & Mouse. I plugged the USB 3.0 port into a hub and both worked from there just fine. This item is a keeper, I've mounted it on my desk with Velcro, hope it lasts forever. ... show more
