The description insinuates that this easy set-up and use. I followed all the direction and the stupid phone still doesn’t work, it keeps wanting me to scan a QR code for parent activation, which I have done 20 times, my phone shows it as working, but the darn thing still doesn’t work. Can’t make calls on or text or anything, even after getting an email saying it was activated and ready for use. Tried calling customer support and guess what, they’re closed until Monday. Only open banker hours, oh wait, my bank is open on Saturdays!!! Complete waste of money, and not EASY as described. **Upgraded to 4 stars. Customer support reached out to me afterwards, and offered to send me another phone (discounted) and told me there have been a very small percentage of phone that have experienced the issue I had. The new phone arrived and set-up was easy as described, I was just unlucky with the first phone I received. With that being said I’m hesitant to give 5-stars because the entire situation was a pain, (they did make it right in the end), but also the lack of customer support on the weekend. This phone was really easy to set up and manage what my son is up to. I was able to set a time limit for his phone usage throughout the day and limit the types of app he uses. I'm always worried about the type of apps and content kids get access to these days, so this phone gives me peace of mind. The only downside I see is that the camera isn't really iPhone quality, but that's not really the reason I bought the phone, however some kids might care about camera quality. ... show more

I’m am pleased. So pleased that this is my first review. This is really the phone I have been waiting for. I feel that my teen is safer and is able to use the phone in case of emergencies. If I were you , I would try it. The app is easy to use. When my teen ask for access to an app it has to be approved by me the parent and with a timed limit that I choose/ per day. I like the idea of the phone, but not the fact that all my contacts and info flows to her phone if allowed. Needs to only sync from hers to mine. Allow me to only provide contacts she needs and any other info. She has my calendar access as well when calendar app accepted. To much info!! for her.

Got this phone for one of my nephews and his birthday, and he loves it. This is his first phone ever, the only one my older brother (his father) would approve of him. The phone comes with an affordable wireless service as well. From what I hear, the phone is easy to use and simple to set up, but most importantly, my nephew says it has all the apps he wants. We're Teracube customers having bought their eco friendly phone ourselves and used it for about 2 years now. We can attest to the level of support that we've received from them including the screen accidents. So we decided to give their kids phone a try for our 13 year old. We've been talking a LOT about him getting a phone, but my concern was always him spending too much time on it. With Teracube thrive it's the perfect middle ground, he can have his phone, and I can control how much time he spends on it. It was so easy to set up, we just jumped right in and got it set up within minutes. Now our kid has a cool phone like his friends, but we can make sure he's using it responsibly. Their wireless service has also been very reliable so far, he hasn't had any coverage issues. I'm also very glad the wireless plan comes with their lifetime warranty. This phone serves exactly what I was looking for for my son. A first phone seems more and more necessary these days and I’ve been hesitant with all the anxieties that plague today’s society. I am happy to have a sense of a control on what my son has access to on his phone and limiting his time to apps. The phone itself is hard to beat for the price and the affordable phone plan with a great warranty. I also appreciate that we are starting him young in investing in our planet by purchasing a eco friendly phone. My daughter spends way too much time on social media with her iPhone. It was either I took away her phone privileges every day at a certain time or we compromised. We both decided on Teracube Thrive. She has been using the phone for almost a week and it’s a very happy compromise. The parental controls ensure she doesn't access bad social networks and I can control how long she is on the social platforms, I allow. I love the safe content browsing. I don't think she understood how much of a negative effect social media was having on her grades and her happiness. I've noticed an immense difference in just the first week of her using this phone.
