  • Download Speed Improved by 4x and easy install for a Geezer
Style: WiFi Router
Disclaimer: I'm an old guy. who is somewhat technologically challenged. First, I bought a used cable/voice/wireless modem (TG862G) for our Xfinity service because I'm cheap. The combo modem works okay, but the wireless capability severely attenuated thru walls. I bought an extender which helped a little, but not much. I saw the Tenda router and bought it to improve the data rate to our DirecTV receiver. The install was very easy and took 10 minutes out of the box. I did not read the directions. I can't comment on all of the Tenda router's technical capabilities, but our data rate thru the one wall (about 40 feet) increased from 10 Mbps (sometimes down to 1) to 40 Mbps (with peak at 80). I do understand the shared bandwidth issue with cable. Anyhow, we are now happier with our TV viewing with many fewer buffering episodes. So, for us...great purchase. ... show more

  • Straightforward review
Style: WiFi Router
The box claims to cover up to 600 mbps speeds. With a plan of up to 200 mbps this router, in a 800 sqft apartment, could only offer speeds no higher than 50 mbps while inches away. After calling their customer service they were not surprised as they knew that those speeds were average for that router. It reached far, and worked but not for the plan I have. I'm not paying for 200 mbps speeds and settling for no more than 50. I returned the product and I'm sure someone would appreciate this review. That is all. ... show more

  • This Tenda is my Wifi ticket to hassle free service.
Style: WiFi Router
This WiFi router has made my life very enjoyable now. It was easy to mount and set up using my laptop through screen prompts. The Tenda is located on the north wall in my house and I can still get great reception on the south side of my house at the end of my driveway, which is over 250 ft. The cable company was going to change me 3 times the price of this Tenda for 1 year of WiFi service off of their modem. I like all of the extra connection ports that it has and I have about on the avg of 4 devices using the WiFi at the same time with no delay time of information. ... show more

  • A good, no-frills WiFi router
Style: WiFi Router
A good, no-frills WiFi router. I bought it mainly for signal coverage. The set-up was easy; the UI much improved from a previous Tenda that I owned, though there were some minor annoyances (such as not hiding the password as you type it, and popping up the text "Capital characters are entered" if your password has uppercase letters -- distracting and not useful). Features include: * Blacklisting by MAC address. * Port forwarding. External/internal port numbers can be different, which is nice if you want to obscure your home-brew service using a nonstandard port number. * DDNS, DMZ host Some notable areas for improvement: * No Daylight Saving Time option for timezone. * No easy way to associate IP addresses and MAC addresses. * Edits need to be explicitly saved; when you navigate away from the page, it doesn't warn you about unsaved changes. Overall, I'm pleased with this WiFi router. It's definitely a solid performer at its price point. ... show more

  • instructions for hookup are misleading and i think incorrect
Style: AC21
the instructions state to hookup the old router with this model via ethernet cables to download the passwords and user name to this router but that is not the way it seems to work. i tried multiple times to hook this device up and followed the instructions to the letter and it would not let my computer connect to the internet running windows 10 on my laptop. What it ends up doing is erasing the password and user name and you have to go on the website to change it. After you go through all that it still wont let you connect and your old router is toast due to what i think is this model erasing your original info. I have to use ethernet cables until i can figure out how to get my wifi back. Everyone, pass this one up the aggravation is not worth it ... show more

  • This is not a very good WiFi Router
Style: AC21
I have only had this for 2 months, and it is already not able to connect to the internet. When I place a Static IP in the system it cannot connect, I then switch to dynamic IP and it stills cannot connect to the internet. I would be very careful when buying this product. If it is going to stop working after 2 months that is a very bad product. But what do you expect from a company that is headquartered in ShenZhen China. ... show more

  • Nice Range & Good Hardware - Terrible Software
Style: WiFi Router
I was REALLY wanting this router to work. We live in a four story city house (narrow, but deep and tall). This was the first router I've found that could reach every inch of the house. It IS powerful. However, there is a bug in the software/firmware that forced me to return it. The software allows for use of specified DNS servers, but even though you enter those IP addresses, it fails to actually use them. Customer support is in China and totally useless. They were unable to resolve. If you don't care about using your own DNS, then this router may work. ... show more

  • WEAK Tenda Router does not work at all w/ Google home
Style: WiFi Router
This is not worth the money. It does not work at all with any google homes or google Minis. The signal may be fast at certain times and then you can’t connect for awhile. Don’t be fooled by the antennas, don’t enhance anything. Only good thing is that it looks great and looks like it should do an awesome job. It doesn’t. Will be returning because I’m getting the old one fixed. This is garbage at best. Wouldn’t recommend Tenda products, unless given free and I would probably just give it away. Hope this helps. For some it may work, but we have a lot of devices and this router just doesn’t meet our expectations. ... show more
