  • Over size case, for a reason
Be prepared to pay even more to travel. I have to fly with my iMacs. The larger glass screen presents an obvious challenge. Tenba has a great reputation so I went all out on this case. Note that this case is slightly larger than the dimensions on this page, which may be for the 24" iMac case. Most US airlines have a limit of 62 inches total, and 50 lbs without charging extra. Delta Airlines measured this out at 68 inches and charges an additional $150.00 to check the over-size bag. The bag with computer only - no keyboard, weighs exactly 50 lbs. If their scales are off, you may have to pay extra for over weight too. Southwest airlines states the same but didn't care about charging for anything and just did it. I don't see any way around it. The case is only slightly larger than the original box. maybe Tenba could keep the size restrictions in mind and shave a bit off the padding, but the computer arrives intact which is the most important thing. The ilugger is great for getting around town or car travel, but isn't sturdy enough for checked luggage. ... show more

  • Flight Tested and Approved!
I live in Chile. I wanted an iMac 27inch but down here they cost about 1000 more then in the US. I did alot of research on cases and was still terified to put a mac under the plane. I just traveld from SFO through Mexico City, and then here to Chile and I am writing from my new computer now. This case is simple, extremly well built and I would have no reservations about bring my computer under the plane in the future! This thing is really amazing and I was able to chekc it with no extra bag fee which was also a plus. ... show more

  • Expensive but necessary for travel
Really the best solution for shipping or checking an iMac. There are 2 handles for dragging by wheels. I really wish the top handle was mounted higher so I didn’t have to bend down as much while dragging. I’m not particularly tall either so I think it’s a strange design. But overall great build quality and protection. ... show more

  • A little bit of Tech Heaven!
Wow! All I can say is Wow! This is a fantastic piece of heaven! I had the hard shelled Pelican like case for my IMac. The weight was 70 pounds. It was horrible to get in cars and to carry to the airport. When I saw this, I wanted to try it. I did. It took 20 pounds of the weight and my IMac travels perfectly. This is a must for anyone that needs to travel with their case like I do! ... show more

  • I will be shipping it back in a case much like the one Apple sends them in
Purchased this case to ship a perfectly sound 7 month old 27" iMac. Reviewed the packing details online and confirm with a reputable camera store in Los Angeles....After shipping the case/computer UPS, I opened it to find that the hing that swiveled the foot on the computer was forced out and the the back of the computer where the hing was forced out was bent. I took it to the Authorized Apple Repair in Atlanta and they confirmed that I had packed it properly, but simply the top of the case must have had something thrown on top of it and forced the computer into the base popping the swivel and bending the back......So much for a full proof case....I own a lot of Tenba stuff but will never purchase their product again....Not only did the case cost $650, but the repair is $600. I have tried to reach Tenba Support to no avail.....I will be shipping it back in a case much like the one Apple sends them in...I can buy the for $50.......Really a scam..... ... show more

  • MSRP is off
The MSRP direct from the manufactures own web site is not what is listed. Amazon is still cheaper, but only $30cheaper not over $300 as claimed... This is a great case though. I am getting a second one...

  • TERRIBLE
Hello one and all...This product is certainly tough enough to protect it's precious cargo but the lack of a suitable handle to "tow" this monster around makes this product marginal as a viable piece of transport equipment. the word "exhausting" comes to mind every time I think about hauling my iMac to computer classes or in for some tweaking. It's almost easier to tuck that 27" critter under arm and head for town...sorry guys but for a company advocating they might be the best thing since bottled beer, you fall way short of the mark in thoughtful design. Had you made it an option, that would have at least given someone like me the choice of having the handle or not. FYI, I bought this product on the manufacturers reputation and paid several hundred dollars to assure my being pleased with my choice. If I were to do this again, I would have bought the nice lady's unit for less than $200.00 and had the benefit of a real transportable unit. Spending more for less has always been my problem but, I am learning. ... show more

  • Tenba equipment is cleverly designed. Lightweight but ultrasturdy.
Tenba equipment is cleverly designed. Lightweight but ultrasturdy. I love their gear and their cases for iMacs are particularly reliable for frequent travel.
