Couple of collets were crimped (squished) during packing whether from shipping or the manufacturer. Fortunately they were not broken so I used a couple of drill bits and inserted the smooth end from behind to reshape them open They work as intended with my Dremel tool. That's why I gave it 3 stars

    • Wonderful replacement at a fraction of the price
Size: 10 pc Nuts Only
I bought these as a replacement for the collet nut on my dremel 8200. They fit a little snug the first time you put them on. Once you have used it a few times it feels more like the original. I suspect it is because the nut threads are not cleaned up before shipping. It puts good pressure on the collet but it did nut leave the collet protruding a tiny bit like the original did. I suspect people who don't get sufficient pressure are using a worn out collect or the shaft on their accessory is worn out. You can file the edges of the split in the collet to get a little longer life out of them. This collet nut seems a little longer than the original but I cannot be sure as I lost mine and cannot compare directly. It seems the nut might come close to bottoming out on the dremel itself. If I did, there is a nice little ring at the bottom of the collet nut that would serve as a great guide for cutting it shorter with a hack saw or as a reference line for grinding. I have not checked to see if the factory supplied wrench fits but I am sure it will. It was not tight enough that I felt I needed to use it. ... show more

I had one of these on a Dreml that I gave away, regretted it the moment I picked up my new one & had to change the bit. Odd that I’ve never seen them stocked at a big box store. Imo these should come standard w/ every rotary tool.
