Description

Tekton 3/8 inch drive flex head ratchets have a 90-tooth gear that produces a working swing arc of 4 degrees. The single half-moon pawl maintains 9 teeth engaged with the gear at all times, ensuring that it won't slip or skip under stress. The quick-release drive tang retains sockets with a spring-actuated detent ball—press the release button to easily add to or drop sockets from the drive tang. The flex head sweeps through 180 degrees, snapping to nine different detent angles to reach around obstacles. A spring-actuated pawl engages with well-defined teeth to hold the head in position. The handle is bent 20 degrees, making it easier to reach around obstructions. Unlike conventional "low profile" designs that focus on controlling only the thickness of the head, we reduced the size in every dimension: length, width, and height. Tekton ratchets meet (and most far exceed) the industry standard for proof torque, a measure of strength verified by a single-cycle test that applies torque until the specified value is reached without failure or any permanent deformation.

Perfect for those hard to reach bolts when laying under a vehicle. The swivel head ratchet is a must have, and this particular ratchet has a longer stem with a bend at the end for leverage for those tough bolts, I had no problem getting my transmission bolt off to check my fluid level with this, it saved me from severe burns from the cat. I first bought the GW ratchet for spark plugs on a 04 durango 5.7l. It also is a good ratchet, but the detents didn't seem as well engaged as this tekton. I also like the quick release feature since it's difficult sometimes to get the socket off of the ball detent without removing the socket from the fastener. This is also a bit longer than the GW but nothing to brag about. I grab for this ratchet now. I no longer need an extension to get to the oil pan drain on the 5.7l hemi. I can configure this to slide in between the xmember and the pan so that the had is angled in to get a 1/2" shallow socket on the drain plug. The head also stays in place very well. ... show more

I really like this ratchet. It is comfortable, durable and well built. It works so much better than standard ratchets. It operates in spaces others can't. Which in turn saves time and frustration. I'm happy with this purchase and would recommend it.

Wonderful performance, I only dislike the detent flex head. But the flex head doesn't flop around Like others. Alot cheaper than snapon but still good quality .

Tekton makes great tools love there ratchets this is a beautiful well made ratchet the head is alot smaller than my snap on flex head ratchets which I love them to I also bought the 3/8 flex head in 1/4 inch body it has one of the best sounding gears I've ever heard in it

Tekton products have increased in price over the last couple of years, relative to other TW-made tools, but still a great value compared to tool-truck brands.
