So far I am very happy with the TV. I bought it mainly for gaming. 2016 is when I got serious into premium TV just to have a good picture quality for games. my first TV back then was the samsung KS8000. I was really surprised with the picture quality but down the road I noticed a flaw: game mode downgrade the picture quality. the input lag out of game mode in the ks8000 isnt good so eventually I put my eyes on the lg oled c8. excellent picture quality in game mode. barely any input lag but then another thing started to bother me. the high peak brightness wasnt high enough. the ks8000 has awesome peak brightness so I was used to it. I loved the perfect black and contrast on the oled c8 but I felt it needed that peak brightness to make it perfect. Eventually my household were living on one income so Istopped looking at TV until last year. Then I discovered the Samsung s95b and discovered that it has all the benefits pack in one, high peak brightness, excellent contrast and perfect blacks but I couldnt afford it until recently I discovered the TCL QM8. Started reading reviews and heard about the high peak brightness and that the blacks levels were very close to Oled and excellent contrast for just $1000. I couldnt believe it and was very skeptical. kept reading reviews, noticed that amazon has a monthly payment plan with no interest and decide it to give it a go and... it is the gamers dream comes true for just $1000 instead of paying $1,700 for the samsung s90C. As soon as I installed it, started playing Alan Wake 2 which is a dark game and was really surprised at the black levels. I swear the black levels looks like my lg oled c8 but now with high peak brightness (higher than ks8000) and the best of all, very low input lag!. granted I havent seen the samsung s90c in person but I can say my TCL qm8 has shown almost a match or improvement in every category I care about. Higher peak brightness than the ks8000 and the lg oled c8, and the black levels and contrast are very close to my oled for just $1000. After gaming for years on my oled c8, I started craving for that peak brightness so went back to my ks8000 and was playing through that horrible input lag. not anymore!     • Finally, a large TV with a middle stand!

I purchased this TV primarily because it has the single stand in the center of the TV. Most TV's this size have legs set to the far outside of the TV, where you must have a platform that is 65" or more wide. Otherwise you must hang it on a wall. I didn't want to purchase a new stand for a lesser expensive TV, and I didn't want to mount on the wall. The middle stand works great. The picture is very good for a TV of this size at this price point. The sound is really good, but I still added a surround sound system to it. The remote is backlit and that is great. The TV responds very fast when navigating between the home screen, apps, settings. etc. Setup was very simple. It does require 2 people to lay it horizonal, so that you may attach the base. I used the Styrofoam packaging for this purpose and had the base on in 5 minutes. Connections on the rear are organized and well labeled. From unbox to watching movies took about 25 minutes. I've had this TV for 3 weeks now and have no complaints. I'll follow up as needed if that changes. ... show more

I hesitate a lot when reading the current reviews but by far this TV has everything I needed and expected. Quite bright, love the image quality and Frame Rate is awesome! It is 120hz native but goes up to 240hz which looks way better than a LG that I have in other bedroom. Audio is good too! Speakers perform good in my living room which ceiling is around 12feet. Love the OS (AndroidTV), it is so fast and responsive in comparison with other brands (my experience and comparison is with LG and Samsung). Of course you can link with your other devices or mobile to make the setup easier and personalized (have multiple profiles from family) For gaming is great! I have a PS5 hook to it an so nice! It switches to a Gaming profiles where you can even put a fix target in the screen for FPS (lol) Consider this one is heavy, I’ll give that and also, remote control has light that will dim or turn on automatically, great when watching a movie and want to pause or whatever in a dark environment. ... show more

Very good picture quality and high brightness than some branded TVs. Yes its TCL, but picture looked really good compared to even some of the branded TVs(in a TV showroom with a very good customer rep who played both general content and once in a while watched HQ TV demos). Artificial image flavors can be observed some times. Long remote suited to my hand well. OS is slowwwwww and avg response is 3-5 seconds, worst can go up to 8 seconds. Up to 5 seconds avg response time in 2024, thank you. Speaker is good. Never got a singe 4K 120 Hz 10 feet cable maintain signal, tried 4 brands under 20 bucks not premium ones. But a 3ft zeskit worked flawless on 4K 120 Hz if it helps some one. Not sure if there is some issue with TV as well apart from cables, as 10 ft cables worked for many on 4K 120 Hz per reviews. Bought te 65 inch just under 900 but with C3 65s started hitting 1100 during clearances, 900 for this doesn't appeal any more. It is what it is!! Wishing it doesn't fail any time soon, an earlier 500 bucks TCL is still working after 6 years hope QM8 makes it too. Almost forgot, primary usage is Gaming and while it isnt C3, G3 still a great gaming TV mostly made that impression out of its brightness than picture quality. Overall a great TV but not outstanding. For 600-650, I would not think twice to grab a 2nd one. ... show more
