🚀 Abunda's Overview

This is our summary and key points to consider based on customer reviews.

The Hisense Google TV, according to the reviews, provides excellent value for money with its clear screen, good sound quality, and minimal style. However, there are mixed feelings about the integrated Google TV experience. Some found it user-friendly, while others say it’s not as intuitive as competitors like Roku.

Pros

  • 📺 Provides great value for money.
  • 📈 Excellent screen clarity and sound quality.
  • 🏡 Integrates well with Google Home app.
  • 🔌 Can be paired with a Roku device if desired.

Cons

  • ❗ Reports of dimming zones and visible backlights in low light/dark scenes.
  • 😥 Some users found Google TV interface less straightforward than competitors.

Should I Buy It?

If you're seeking a budget-friendly TV that still delivers on screen size, clarity and overall performance, the Hisense Google TV is worth considering. While the integrated Google TV interface may not be to everyone's liking, it appears this can be easily worked around with a separate streaming device if necessary. Therefore, it’s a worthy purchase for both TV and tech enthusiasts.

  • bit of a pain with spectrum
Size: 50-Inch
ok. Xumo wifi worked great with everything except spectrum. being a data geek, I can fix this. 6 hours later was wishing I had an AR-15. uploaded new app. uploaded all apps. finally totally shut down PC, TV, modem, router, Xumo, all that. after 2 days. now it works. best color and image ever. added iline soundbar. plug comes out easy, link to TV is short. but Dolby is awesome. I'm deaf as a post but can understand it. I liked old spectrum better, remote could lit favorite shows (got that ), but ability to list what I want for next week doesn't seem to be there. I have a watch list, but no reminder, go to 60 minutes. show on startup, list of all the channels got that. has tons of stuff built in. of course you have to get passwords and usernames...and pay. best to look at what is bundled. oh yeah, spectrum owns 3 major channels. so you need Xumo , or fire or roku to watch it. cable is dead. so blame gen x. As a TV, awesome. Setting up, its a pain. and complaints are legion. Xumo and Spectrum blame each other. I had that happen in flight test. I'm retired. enough. Samsung was previous TV, was a smart TV, but had the IQ of MAGA. this works great. just chill, relax. you will need model #, write that on instruction manual. also on plugs on the back, make sure you look at it carefully before you hang on wall or sety upright. audio to soundbar was a wtf...HDMI was a bit hard to plug in. plug it in before you set upright. much easier. unless you have really long arms. has an Rca plug so dvd can be used, haven't gotten that set up yet. find youtube crank up The Who and rock. oh yeah, need to sign up for that unless you just don't want a saved play list. ... show more

  • An eminently practical TV
Size: 50-Inch
-Very large -Picture quality is good, but I have to deduct a star for the shimmering effect when viewing at an angle -Standard Google TV OS makes for a very practical, one remote option with a good UI and lots of available content -Audio quality is good, but not great. -Easy to set up, including connecting to wifi and accounts Overall, this TV is excellent for the price point. ... show more

  • Surprisingly great TV for the price.
Size: 50-Inch
For a budget TV don't hesitate. I was skeptical and picky but just needed a TV for the spare room. What the heck, it's inexpensive with some nice features. The android interface is smooth and full featured even if it's proprietary. The TV almost has as many settings and fine tuning settings of my 6x more expensive TV. After some adjustments the picture is great. The remote is limited but works great and is voice capable. I use an old 5.1 sound system with toss/optical with no problem. (some channels and apps I have to change the output setting. But if you have a newer 'hdmi' sound bar you shouldn't have to) I'm not a professional/fanatical gamer but all my PC games on Steam look good. Only 60fps but minimal if any lag/latency. Is it as good as my my dedicated 120hz PC monitor? No, but for the games I want on a 50inch screen it's great. HDR is in the "eye of the beholder" and over-sold in my opinion. As long as the 4k picture looks great, I can live without it. But the 4k and HDR looks as good as my other TV. Also... 1080p, 720p and even 480p scale and looks great. (like any TV, you will have to adjust the settings) I have not found any fault, quirk or problem with set. If my Sony goes out I'm moving this to the living room. ... show more

  • Great Picture, But Allow a LOT Of Time For Setup/Firmware Updates
Size: 43-Inch
Bought this for my elderly mom who watches TV exclusively through her hard-wired Dish satellite box. When I first hooked this up, the automated Hisense setup process ensued. For some reason, I went ahead and connected the set to Wi-Fi (even though the Wi-Fi features will never be used by my mom). When I got around to setting up the Dish features, Hisense hijacked the TV saying there was a (firmware?) update available. It gave me no choice to decline the update; the only “option” available was to “update”. 15 minutes later the update was completed. Back to the Dish setup. Again, an “update” hijack. After the THIRD such update, 45 minutes later, I called Hisense and surprisingly got to a human very quickly. A human who had no idea how many more updates we might have to endure. I should have gotten suspicious when I saw a manufacture date of 2/2023 (I bought this 12/2024). Before the 4th hijack, I drilled back in and killed the Wi-Fi connection. That solved the problem. Once I finally got it set up and out of the grips of update hijacks, this TV has a beautiful, crisp, clear picture and very good sound. Mom’s happy! And, when mom’s happy…. ... show more
