  • Amazing for movies AND gaming!!
Size: 65 inches Style: TV only
Bought this TV for my bedroom and replaced a 4 year old 50inch samsung. TCL has got the best TV remotes and google is the best OS for smart TVs. The colors look very good on the TV and the blacks get very dark. Whites look awesome and TV gets very bright. Settings is easy to navigate. FOR GAMING, it has 120hz refresh rate which looks super good and helps me stay on top. the TVs built in gaming mode is very good, I started playing games before i set up gaming mode and got scared due to there being a large enough delay in the response from XBOX to TV. after putting on gaming mode, it was perfectly fine with good response time. Speakers in TV sound good for a TV but I have my own surround sound set up anyways. But for the average ear, speakers sound pretty solid. Finally putting it together was so easy, didn’t even need 2 people. VALUE FOR MONEY, it’s very very good for the money, I paid $700. If you are thinking, just pull the trigger. • Beautiful TV
Size: 65 inches Style: TV only
I will start off by saying I haven't tinkered with all the settings/features of this tv yet so I can't go into too much detail with this review. This replaced a 55" LG TV I bought 14 years ago. It served me and my family well but it was time to upgrade. This TV is probably the closest you will get to OLED quality. The colors are much more rich and vibrant compared to the other TVs in my house. There is a color enhancement setting that you can turn on that will make them "pop" even more but I leave it off as I think it makes the colors look a bit too saturated. I was going to get the 55" but the 65" had a huge sale ($400 off) and it ended up being only $100 more than the 55" so I got it. 4K and 1080p picture quality are beautiful. Colors look vibrant and the screen can get very bright! 720p broadcast tv quality on YouTube TV looks decent but it's a little on the blurry side when watching sports. Don't let this sway your decision as this will likely be an issue for all TV's in the 65"+ range. It doesn't look terrible but you can notice a bit of blurriness and compression artifacts in certain areas. I believe this is mainly due to the size of the screen. The bigger the screen, the blurrier the lower resolutions will look. There are a few sports games that broadcast in 4K on YouTube TV and they look great! The absolute best picture quality will come from 4k blu ray content as content on Blu Ray media is typically uncompressed. You can adjust a few settings to your taste for picture quality. There are also several sound modes to choose from. The sound is not bad at all. Solid bass (there is a mini subwoofer built into the rear of the tv and the sound seems to emit from the rear as well). Honestly it's probably the best sound I've heard from a tv with no external soundbar or surround sound setup. With that said, the quality of the sound isn't prefect, but it's adequate and it can get REALLY loud. Turning the volume just to about 18 is more than enough for my family room! There are 4 HDMI ports.. one 4k-144hz port, one 4k-120hz port and two 4k 60hz ports (one with eARC). There is also an Ethernet port (I'm guessing it's gigabit Ethernet) and a optical audio port. There is a rubber strap on the back of the tv in the lower middle and there are slots in the TV stand for you to run your cables through to keep everything looking neat. One other SMALL downside is the setup. It will take a good 15-20 min to download updates (depending on your connection speed), sign in to your accounts, choose features to enable, etc.. With everything said, in terms of price and quality, this tv is worth every penny! ... show more

  • Best 65" Bang for the Buck!
Size: 65 inches Style: TV only
Super easy setup. Picture quality is very good. Replaced a 6 year old ($1k) 55" LG 9000pua, and this is a remarkable upgrade. Great deal at $699. Pros: Inky blacks. Brightness is exceptional. Sound quality is above average. Incredible with PS5. Cons: Color saturation needs a little manual tweaking Only had it two days, so will update later. So far so good right out of the box! ... show more

  • Bright and vibrant, very meh remote and concerned about longevity and repairability.
Size: 55 inches Style: TV only
Overall a very good tv, VERY bright and very vibrant atleast when coming from a 5yo hisense that's FALD failed and caused it to have large dead spots all over. Now lets get to a breakdown of the nice things about the tv; - VERY Bright, love how the tv handles highlights. - Very vivid, the colors absolutely POP on this thing due to the QD coating. - Response times regarding gaming are fantastic. Just make sure you plug your HDMI into the correct port, only a single one is 144hz the rest are 60. - 64GB of onboard storage was a very pleasant surprise, means you have more than enough space to sideload a lot of apps. - Google TV is the BEST tv operating system bar none as long as you know how to take advantage of it - Controller is okay, backlight makes up for some of the negatives. Now onto the bad - Eco mode. This mode is on by default and was a hilariously bad idea by TCL. When I first received the tv I had thought it was a TFT panel it was so dull in both color and brightness. I would absolutely recommend you turn it off literally as soon as you can. Your eyes and soul shall thank you. - Very concerned about the longevity of this tv with regards to Updates and security patches. I've had it for abit so far and only had a single update when first starting the tv up (so no real frame of reference on how old that update was exactly) and have had nothing since. Ideally it will receive at least 6 updates a year for 2 years after the tv began selling but I have some hefty doubts that's what they're gonna do with this one. - Repairability is ALWAYS a concern of mine and so far this tv doesn't seem to have any parts up for sale that I could find especially for the tv parts that love going out in regards to wifi modules and certain controllers/backlights. Would really like to see TCL pivot into offering parts for their tvs. - CPU while ok so far likes to hitch and stutter when doing more then 1 thing at a time (EG watching youtube and going to settings) which as you can imagine is abit annoying. - The remote has NO PLAYBACK BUTTONS????? Why tcl??? How does that make sense??? You left a quarter of the remote blank black plastic so you def had room to atleast add a pause button. Also the buttons are VERY mushy. Like i'm slapping some yogurt in a felt bag. While i'm concerned and or dissatisfied about certain things as outlined above I am actually very impressed with this tv overall and would recommend it to friends and family looking for a tv that beats the pants off the competition for the price (atleast for the price I paid for it 499). ... show more
