  • Mind-blowing quality for the price
Size: 43 inches
I bought this 43-inch TCL Q65 to replace our aging Vizio in the master bedroom. We have bought TCL TVs in the past, so this was a confident purchase. Some quick findings - - The unit was packed very securely and came from Amazon in pristine condition. Everything was easy to unpack and prepare for installation. - Physical installation is no more than removing bags, attaching two feet, and plugging the unit in. The excellent remote comes with batteries. - You can either set up the TV interface for Google TV (do this!) or "basic TV" which is the default TCL interface. - Setup will ask you for your streaming provider (like YouTube TV, Sling, Hulu, etc) and for what streaming apps you have accounts for (Disney+, Netflix, Max, Amazon Prime Video, etc.) - these will be integrated into the search and guide functions by default. Hurrah!!! - For your streaming services, have your phone handy and setup is done in seconds for each one. Two hurrahs!!! - You can even link the TV functions to Alexa if that's your preference, and you can control the TV by voice. The level of refinement at THIS PRICEPOINT in terms of hardware, and sophistication in terms of functionality, really have me taken aback. Bravo, TCL! Highest recommendation. ... show more

  • Best bang for the buck (IMHSHO)
Size: 55 inches
I picked this up in a sweet Prime Days deal, and haven't looked back. My PS5 games look as good as my PC with 3060 RTX GT video card. This was originally intended to be a secondary TV, but it is better than my 65" 4K unit purchased four years ago. The Digital Antenna I picked up gives me great reception for the local channels I watch in between streaming and gaming. Once I acquainted myself with the navigation through the "Smart TV" options, I have been able to seamlessly incorporate Alexa and have the TV set up with the apps on the home page arranged in the order in which I use them most. Both Alexa and the Google voice feature are great once I learned how to communicate with them. I have read the reviews, and I didn't run across any of the issues previously reported in some of the less flattering ones. I pulled it out of the box, set it up, plugged it in, and after connecting to WiFi, got the updates and started to explore. Definitely a great investment for me. Hope this helps! ... show more

  • Great TV for gaming, the audio is not the best.
Size: 65 inches
For the price this is an excellent TV. It is very crisp visually even with playing fast paced games. The only thing I don't love is the sound. I don't usually notice it as I play with a headset, but whenever I watch TV without it I would give the sound a 5 out of 10. I'm buying a sound bar to alleviate this issue, and even with that additional cost I still think this TV is a steal. Get it! ... show more

  • A great 4k for the price!
Size: 55 inches
I have a couple other TCL's in my house and have been very satisfied with their quality and reliability. I bought this model on Prime Day for $300, an untouchable deal. Thanks TCL and Amazon! I have a Q8 and a Q7 and now a Q65. Although this is not a full array 4k, its brightness is more than sufficient, even in my well lit guest bedroom. The color saturation is decent for the price and I love the TCL remotes and their on screen menu layout. It was easy to get the Google TV up and running in a few minutes. Similarly, TCL's system auto updated and uploaded the latest software and firmware after connecting to my WiFi. My brother agrees with me too! He just bought one for his outdoor covered patio. At $300 with all the features it offers, it's a no brainer. Kevin W. (Houston, Texas) ... show more

  • Update: Can only use WiFi SSID on either 2.4ghz or 5ghz, not on both
Size: 65 inches
Updated: It turns out that this TV has old, inadequate WiFi support that does not work well with modern WiFi systems that present the same SSID on both the 2.4ghz and 5ghz bands at the same time (thus letting the client chose which band to lock on to.) To get reliable WiFi with this TV I had to change our WiFi settings to create a new "IoT" SSID on either the 2.4 or 5ghz bands (but *not* both) and then update the TV settings to use that new SSID. (I put mine on the 5ghz band.) Fortunately my Netgear Orbi system was able to create that new, additional SSID and lock it to exactly one of the frequency bands (2.4 or 5ghz). Before getting this TV one should check that their WiFi hardware is able to do this. When doing this you probably will need to restart the TV multiple times. Neither Amazon nor TCL support was much help figuring this out. Original: We will probably return this - WiFi is unreliable (only way to use is via a Roku plugged in to HDMI) We just got this new TV, TCL 65-Inch Q65 QLED 4K UHD Smart TV with Google TV (65Q651G, 2024 Model) and set it up yesterday. Some points: First: This unit does not reliably connect to WiFi. It can see our networks, it can connect (sometimes) after a power reset, but often not. It looses the connection until the unit is power cycled and a fresh attempt made. Our prior TV had no problem. The Roku that we have to use in order to use this TV connects to WiFi with total reliability. We have excellent WiFi here (NetGear Orbi system) and no other device of any kind has any difficulty with our WiFi. We are networking technologists, we are unlikely to have made any errors in the setup of the SSID or the access pass phrase - it is just that sometimes the WiFi works on this TV (for a while) and often it does not work. All other WiFi devices, including the Roku sitting right next to it, work fine while this TV struggles and fails. This turns this unit, from our point of view into nothing but a dumb screen that we can use only via a Roku (that has no trouble with WiFi) plugged into one of the HDMI ports. We did a software upgrade so we are running the latest release. Basically this is unacceptable and if we can not resolve this we will simply have to return this TV for a refund Second: The off-angle viewing range is rather limited. Off center viewing that was OK with our prior (Samsung) is blury with this unit. Third: Google TV seems to be a repacking of YouTube with apps. It can be rather difficult to find content that is not part of the Google ecosystem. We actually prefer to use this unit via our tried and true Roku (which has no WiFi problems) via an HDMI connection. Google TV seems designed by and for children. Fourth: Some of the controls are hard to find - like turning off Soap Opera mode can take a bit of digging. (In its default mode, old B&W movies looked awful.) ... show more
