I like to do my research, so when I had to replace an older TV for the bedroom, I looked around and read reviews. For the price, this was an easy decision. It took all of maybe 6 minutes to get it up and running. For smaller areas (dorm, bedroom, office, kitchen, etc.) it has a great picture and the sound is more than adequate. You can use the built-in Roku system with the remote (very nice) or you can set it up to use a device like an Apple TV box like I'm using. Has all the features you'd expect from a modern TV. It is easy to set up and very user friendly. A good quality picture and colors are vivid. Sound is a bit tinny but good for a flatscreen, the volume is sufficient!! I wish it had USB audio for an audio transmitter other than headphone output which limits volume on a wired in speaker set. I have a new RCA, Sony and Hisense and I like this TCL the best so far. ... show more

Pros: * This is a great deal for what you're getting. It's nice to not have to purchase a Roku stick separately. * Ample connection options, including HDMI ARC which is the best option for a surround sound system. * Sleek/modern looking Cons: * The sound is meh. It's passable, but if you use this with any frequency you're going to want to add a speaker setup. * That little white/clear piece of plastic on the bottom lights up every time you press any button on the remote. I can't find a way to turn it off, so I covered it with electric tape. I can still sort of see a flash of light when I push a button, but it's minimal and I'll probably stop noticing it over time. * The remote make more "click" sound when you press buttons compared to the Roku stick remote I have in my living room. This is a minor issue, but I think it's worth mentioning. Overall, if you're looking for a good value option this is a great choice. Setup was a breeze and picture quality if great for what you're getting (1080p). Time will tell how it holds up, but so far I'm happy with my purchase. ... show more

You get what you pay for. Is it the best quality TV? No. Does it have a clear picture, good connection for streaming, and decent volume for a small room? Yes. Remote and TV work well. App remote works well. Great guest bedroom / office size TV.

We have this tv in an entertainment center and the sound is very quiet and echoing, it is difficult to hear and understand dialogue with volume low. Something about where the speakers are and the quality of the speakers. Our previous smart tv in this same location sounded much better. The picture is great and it was easy to set up and works perfectly otherwise. I’m probably going to buy a small sound bar to address the sound issue. ... show more
