I'm not sure if you're supposed to put a box spring or not under this thing. The slats are thin and pretty far apart. We put our old box spring on top of it and it was ridiculously high, like a cartoon bed. Then we took it out. We put our cheap guest room foam mattress directly on top of it (while we wait for the new mattress to arrive) and you can definitely feel the slats as you kneel on it to get into bed. Maybe the good quality mattress will have less of an issue, but I have a feeling I'm going to have to stick plywood or a super low profile box spring under it, which I wasn't expecting. It's well made and wasn't too hard to assemble so that's why I give it 4 stars anyway. Due to health issues my husband and I have a combined weight of 750lbs. A standard bed frame bends and a standard box spring breaks. It's difficult to correct health issues when a person can't get a good nights sleep because the bed is crooked and uncomfortable. With this bed frame (the full size TATAGO 16 inch) we were able to discard the broken box spring and had our first fully flat sleep in quite awhile. Our home is very small and under-bed storage for linens etc is extremely valuable. The bed is sturdy enough it does not bow or bend and doesn't touch the storage containers below. While the pieces were very heavy, I could have done the entire construction alone, although the two of us made the work go more quickly. There are bolts and small tools included with it so you don't need anything. I might recommend, if you have trouble getting the slats in completely, using a thick towel and a soft rubber mallet to hammer them in, though we were able to simply push them in with little effort. If, at some point it begins to squeak, I would recommend checking the bolts and make sure they haven't come loose. It's a basic, simple, and, honestly, a standard maintenance task that should be done with any furniture that contains bolts, shaky or not. 9 sturdy legs and heavy duty metal slats support the weight well. It's been three weeks now and no squeaking. We can get out of bed without disturbing the other. Bonus? No metal springs threatening to punch through and damage the mattress. It would be nice if there were a headboard and footboard to be able to add as an option in the future. While there are holes already drilled to allow the addition of a headboard there are no holes for a footboard. We have trouble keeping our bedding from falling to the floor during the night. Another suggestion would be to able to add cushioned padding to the frame to prevent painful accidents and kicking. Overall we are loving this bed frame. It was an excellent investment and the price made it affordable for our limited income. ... show more

The rails hold up nice. Only had to use one mattress because the rails sit up high..I had to use 4 people to help hold the rails in place while I tighten the bolts up.

I put this together myself and it did take time and it also was confusing. OH LETS NOT FORGET IT COMES WITH ZERO INSTRUCTIONS. So I had to look it up on the internet and watch videos just to see how to assemble something that should have came with instructions. I don’t know how I was supposed to figure out what goes where without instructions, that’s how you make mistakes and errors. Luckily the good ole internet was a big help. Another complaint is the bars ALWAYS FALL OUT. And the worst thing ever is having to lift my mattress and retrieve the bars and place them back in. when I first bought this bed frame i had carpet flooring when I moved I bought this same bed frame again and it was a mistake because I have wood floors any movement will be a loud squeak even getting out of bed at night may wake your partner this thing is ridiculously squeaky and rugs don’t help it all just slides around no matter how much I tighten the screws the squeaking is unbearable UPDATE: they offered me a partial refund and i’m not sure if i’m going to keep the frame or try for something else since I do have wood floors. good customer service ... show more

Easy and quick assembly if you have two people. Otherwise, it will take longer but can be done. The ledge all the way around keeps the mattress stable with no movement. Researched these bed frames and bought one from a third party seller and I would advise anyone not to do that. It took Amazon to step in so I could get a refund. That took two weeks and endless emails, so, let the buyer beware of third party sellers or at least the one I had to deal with!!! Thank you Amazon for having my back!! ... show more
