the fda fearmongering is nonsense. i've been feeding my german shepherd this brand for his entire life since he was 8 weeks old, and now he's 4 years old. he's extremely healthy, his coat is smooth, he has plenty of energy, and he loves this food. i switch between ancient grains and grain free periodically, because there's been a lot of discourse about whether grain-free is actually good for dogs or not, so at this point i have no idea about that but i figure switching between the two regularly is safe enough. people really need to stop putting so much faith in the fda. they're incredibly shady and can and have been bought to sell a narrative SO many times because capitalism. but if you're really that scared, take your dog for a checkup and ask a trusted vet their opinion. try out the food for a couple months and take the dog back for bloodwork, etc. if your dog is doing fine, the food is fine. but even if your dog isn't doing fine on this food, keep in mind that some dogs just individually have specific needs and may just need foods with certain ingredients. if your dog is getting sick off of a brand, it's usually not the brand's fault, it's just that your dog specifically needs to be on another food. anyway, i love this brand, and it's kept my dog very healthy and happy. i will continue to buy for as long as it exists. ... show more

Gretyl has bladder stones, which are aggravated by grain-based foods. This food is just better. 80% improvement just by changing food.

My dogs only get taste of the wild products and people are often asking me why my dogs look so healthy and have such good coats. Its in what you feed them. Taste of the wild is premium quality but not 55 or 60 bucks like many others.

I wanted to find an alternative for Royal Canin for my Papillon because it is becoming more and more difficult to find. My dog is extremely picky about dog food, though. I read the reviews and hoped for the best. When it arrived Friday, I opened the package and set a few pieces aside to give him (making it like a treat). He sniffed and walked away at first and then came back and took one of the pieces. After eating it, he came back and grabbed the other two pieces and ate them as well. He then came back and was sniffing around trying to find more pieces. I filled a bowl next to his normal food. The next day this was gone while his regular food still sat in the bowl.
