I'm a single mother of two girls, so I'm responsible for doing three heads of hair and so I created a hair salon space in my basement. Unfortunately, I had a hard time keeping track of my hair clips, combs, brushes, and I didn't have a place to lay my hot hair tools. This salon tray solved my pesky little problem. It was very easy to assemble, took minutes and it was ready to use. I used it by my shampoo bowl to hold my shampoo and conditioner.     • Great for many uses but not particularly sturdy
Like many of the other reviewers, I got this for a non-advertised use case. I do not work in hairstyling. I do, however, do a lot of odd jobs around the house and have gotten tired of setting tools and parts down nearby and not been able to find them even though I know they are within 2 feet of me. I figured I could roll this little cart around with me, keep my tools and parts in place on a nice, clean working surface. Assembly is very simple. Pop on the wheels (a bit of force required), slid the bottom cylinder in, slid in the top cylinder and tighten the locking screw, then slid the top plastic tray on to that. This can all be done in under 2 minutes. The quality of the base and cylinders seemed appropriate. My concern, however, is more for the top piece. I got it to mount well enough on the top cylinder, but it would not slide down far at all. Even with a bit of force, it's barely sitting down on the cylinder, so I assume that's as far as it goes. Given the lever arm produced by weight at the edge of the tray, I do have some concerns that it's just going to pop right off, so I've been keeping the weight on it relatively low. This may not be much of an issue in a salon but for other uses, it may be problematic. Aside from the fragility of the setup on the top tray, this serves my purpose well and I'm using it for an off-use case reason so judging too harshly on that doesn't seem appropriate. However, even as a stylist, I'd likely want a bit more security and quality of the top piece. ... show more

    • Nice Tray for Hard Floors
This tray was easy to assemble and is mostly made of plastic. The adjustable height is a nice feature. It is very lightweight. It rolls well on hard floors but I would not recommend it for use on carpeted floors as it will tip over easily. I would also not recommend placing anything heavy on it due to its lightweight construction. That said, I believe it would work reasonable well in a salon or other environment taking the items above into account. ... show more

I don't work at a salon or have any kind of beauty training. I'm self taught in the things I do know. I started doing my own hair extensions (and leaving coloring to the masters.) This has been a life saver. Makes it so much easier to have my tools at arms reach. Love the area for extensions. I can leave them there to dry when I wash them.     • great for a one chair busy home salon
i needed make my home salon space more funcational & me more efficient. i put it together in about 5 minutes lol. the adjustable height is versatile enough to match my chairs height so I can set it exactly where i need, which makes a difference for longer color correction or extension sessions. the tray size is decent, it holds all my tools, and the edge is deep enough to keep things from sliding off. it rolls fine on both tile and carpet, & it has no problem making it up the edge of my mat... and it stays steady even when it’s loaded up.. it doesnt tilt or wobble cleaning it is same old... color comes off easily.. no stains.. no heat burns or melting; i just wipe it down. its been useful for me with a one chair home salon - i do have a consdierable amount of business so id say its functioned well so far. ... show more

First off this tray was sent in a factory box with no padding then boxed in a larger shipping one. The bottom wheel base was well made with push in wheels that a inventive clasp design that helps them stay that does not require to much force to push in like others. The top tray is a a good design but is thin unreinforched plastic that should have bottom cross webbing so as not to break at the base plole hole when weigh is put on it. The adjustable poles simply have a screw threaded In to a nut. So when you adjust it you must totally unscrew are you are going to get the other pole al scratched amd touched up. If you readjust multiple heights you will get screw score marks. The proper way to do this is with multiple pole holes and and a pin Adjuster. I Would consider this a temporary solution. For the price you can find better. Until these things are upgraded are lowered in price I would stay away from this product. ... show more

This is made of plastic and I got it for my teen daughter so she could use it to do crafting projects on. It is very light and the wheels roll really well. It also has easy cleanup because it’s a plastic surface. I live the slat in the middle so she can hang items from it as long as it’s not heavy. This is plastic so you do have to be careful about the weight of items so it doesn’t tip over. But it’s really terrific for her purposes. ... show more
