This mount is fantastic! It is quite strong and has no problems holding my DSLR and 105mm lens. I'm using my DSLR for printed circuit board inspection, with the camera pointed downwards, and this device does everything I need. It's easy to reposition the camera when needed, but really there is not much need since there are no obstructions on the table surface; which means I can move the PCB around under the camera without limitations. This is a very nice product that clamps securely to a table and provides three articulating arms and a mic boom. It is well made from sturdy metal and has a 15 pound payload. The vertical column is rock solid and the articulating arms are steady as long as you don’t hit or shake them. The arms are long enough to work across a table top. The mic boom is the common kind with a spring assisted arm. It accommodates only handheld style mics which might be something of a drawback for some. One arm terminates in a ¼-20 tripod screw and the other in a small ball mount. The last arm has a laptop holder. I wish this easier to use with a tablet which strikes me as a more logical choice to be used wituh a stand of this type. It’s a pretty flexible arrangement and will work well for a lot of people. This is a finely finished, solid set of supports, although not quite as flexible as I wanted. If your equipment matches the mounts provided, it's a nice solution to having to use multiple tripods. If your equipment doesn't match, you may have to make some adaptations but it still can work. There are 4 arms that attach to a vertical post that's clamped to your table or desk. The vertical post is solid. If your table doesn't move, this post won't move. The attached 4 arms will move a little but not much. 3 of the arms clamp around the post and 1, the microphone boom, fixes into the top Arm-3 clamp. However, both the laptop and microphone arms are limited to laptops/monitors and hand-held mikes. I've disassembled both and can't figure out a way to adapt the laptop holder to hold a smaller tablet or the microphone holder to hold a smaller mike (I have 5 mikes that are all smaller and not handhelds). The laptop/monitor holder is VESA standard at 100mm x 100mm and 75mm x 75mm square hole pattern (VESA MIS-D, 100/75). two sets of screws are included. The laptop clamp will hold a notebook or tablet that's larger than 12" wide. I'm not sure where a 7" to 11" tablet would fit as it's too small for the laptop holder and too large for the provided smartphone adapter that can attaches to Arm #3. The 2 monitor/laptop adapters are removable with the squeeze of a clip. This mount and arm alone can cost more than the price of this stand with all the arms. The other two arms have a standard 1/4" 20 UNC screw attachment which should fit most small cameras and accessories. On one, the ball head is built in, and on the other, a detachable ball head is provided. An iPhone sized clamp (>5") is provided that fits onto either of the 1/4" screw mounts. After removing the microphone attachment, there was a larger screw size that might be 3/8" but I didn't have anything to test it. The clamp joints in the middle of the arms release and tighten quickly and securely. However, some of the joints need a provided hex wrench (2 sizes included) to loosen or tighten. You can tighten the arms down so that nothing moves if you so desire. All are stable and made of heavy aluminum with a black anodized finish. 5-stars - For someone with the right setup, this makes an excellent setup without having to deal with multiple tripod legs getting knocked around. It's 4 stars for me as I can only use 2 of the arms with the equipment I have now (tablet doesn't fit w/o some clamps and the microphone just clips on). It's a great solution if you have a semi-permanent setup for recording or communicating as there is only one post and all the arms can be swung out of the way by flipping a clip on each arm.
