This was easy to apply, and I’m no beauty expert - exfoliating and applying evenly on my body did the trick. I even used it on my face and avoided the spots with melasma. I was happy to find a self tanner that was not only a US based product, but an all natural, dye free one… The after smell doesn’t bother me, kind of expected.. but I read reviews based off skin tones and whatnot.. I opted for the fair to medium just because I haven’t seen sun in a long time, but I’m not fair skin, I’m on the olive side… so I did everything the instructions told me to do so, applied one coat, let it dry, and then a second coat… well the next morning I woke up and I have orange spots on my wrists, elbows and ankles….. not sure how to avoid that. I made sure everything was rubbed in evenly and somehow couldn’t avoid that… how do I prevent this in the future??? Overall good product, just not 100% orange free ... show more

I was very disappointed with this product because it has orange undertones. I purchased this product based on the reviews and description, expecting it to not turn orange anywhere on my body, but unfortunately this wasn’t the case. I avoided my elbows, hands, and knees when applying this lotion, but I never expected where my wrist meets the palm of my hand to turn orange. I used a special glove I purchased on Amazon to apply the tanning lotion in order to avoid any “orangy” look and I still have parts of my body that turned orange. I wouldn’t recommend this product. *******UPDATE BELOW*********** The company reached out to me and explained why I was having orange undertones when using the product, it’s because I have fair skin (which I do) and because of my fair skin, I purchased the wrong shade, I should’ve purchased the “light” product and not the “medium” product which is what I purchased. The company was very accommodating and immediately offered me a full refund or offered to exchange my product for the “light” shade. I opted to have them switch out my product. Even though this communication just took place today, I’m extremely happy that they reached out so quickly and offered a resolution. You can tell that they care about their customers and they stand behind their product, therefore I would definitely recommend doing business with this company. I know this is a long post, but I will do one more update once I receive the product exchange and I try it, but so far so good.***** FINAL UPDATE- the company kept their promise and sent me the lighter shade for my skin type, I applied this product 2 days ago and I absolutely love it!! This product has given my skin a beautiful sun kissed glow and it looks amazing. I would suggest that if you have any questions about which product you should purchase, contact the seller because they are extremely knowledgeable, care about their customers, and stand behind their product 100%!! UPDATE 3.5 stars - a rep named Crystal from Beauty by Earth reached out to me and offered me a refund. Crystal informed me that if color development is any sort of orangey, that means the shade is too dark for and one would need to shade down. I also learned some people are sensitive to the DHA or the Camellia Oleifera (Japanese Green Tea) Leaf Extract ingredient and dont know until they try it. I rated them higher than before because of their promptness to ensure all their customers are satisfied. at first this tanner seemed promising with the natural marketing, but the moment I applied, it was downhill. I’m never bothered by the smell of tanners because they are after all chemicals. the initial smell of coconut and vanilla was pleasant but later it turned to a faint but lingering vomit-like smell. the product is advertised that it can be applied with your hands as long as you wash them immediately after, but there is still an orange tint left regardless of how much you scrub. the cream is really thick and is difficult to blend in regardless of how little is applied and circular motions. only minutes on and parts of my body starting itching and turning pink. I read a few reviews sharing similar symptoms, but I didn’t think I would be affected since my skin isn’t sensitive. I immediately showered but the unpleasant smell lingered till the following day. I was hopeful for this product but ultimately would not recommend. I had better success with tanners like St. Tropez ... show more
