While other customers have complained about lackluster customer service from Camplux my experience was quite the opposite. For whatever reason (perhaps related to the incredibly unusual and intense rain storms we’ve had in LA?) my Camplux water heater started throwing a code after being installed for a little over 3 months. I reached out to Camplux, worked with them on troubleshooting steps and ultimately, after a few days of back and forth we figured out it could be a couple of different things. I was ok with swapping out parts to attempt a repair but to ensure we were back up and running as soon as possible they insisted on sending me another brand new replacement water heater. They literally could not have done any more than they did and they couldn’t have been any more helpful. The unit itself does everything our prior tankless did but unlike the old one it didn’t cost $1700. As long as it holds up I see no reason why anyone shouldn’t consider buying this model for their home. ... show more

I really love this unit if you need one. I have natural gas and this thing is hot water instantly . Unlike the junky electric one I bought on ebay . Wish the cord was in two pieces you have to open cabinet use pliers to remove the wire grommet unplug and then do it reverse order. But it's worth it I really am impressed with quality. Now I did receive my first one damaged from UPS and all needed was new cold water valve over two weeks constant emailing and instead of a simple valve the sent me a whole new unit . I don't understand their thinking oh well Great unit lackluster customer service ... show more

The media could not be loaded. We liked the price and the reviews on this water heater, so decided to give it a try. It arrived with a broken gas valve, so I contacted customer service. They were incredibly responsive, and made sure I got a working gas valve quickly. We did end up putting it closer to the gutter than is suggested by the manufacturer. We didn't feel like the heat that comes out was that hot (you can put your hand right in it) It's nice and quiet, and the water is staying a constant temperature. I washed 5 dogs the other day, and the water warmth was perfect the entire time. We have 7 kids, and are really happy not to be running out of hot water for showers. Only thing we weren't nuts about, is the wired control panel doesn't have a removable plug. So, it will have to stay outside with the water heater (it does have a really long wire, but we don't want to have a wire leading in through the outside door) So far so good! I was a victim of the recurring E8 exhaust plugged code. I really wanted to like this tankless heater. Unfortunately the entire year I had this installed it was a roll of the dice wether you would get a hot shower from start to finish. It was mounted outdoor per the manufacturer recommendation, as well as received water from a water softener with 3/4” line. It didn’t work great from day 1, usually provided enough hot water to take a 4-5 minute shower, then it would go ice cold and you would wait for 1-2 minutes and then get 4-5 minutes of hot. I upgraded the gas line from 1/2” to 3/4” to no avail. I nearly replaced my entire water line with 1” thinking it didn’t have enough supply. Before I took that plunge I decided I would by lowes 1000$ AO smith brand and if that unit had problems I would know there was a plumbing problem. Nope… turns out you get what you pay for. Oh and when the unit went cold it would display E8 every time. I tried everything from relocating it to adding an external fan to help vent away exhaust Gas. Unfortunately nothing ever worked reliable. Good luck…. This product was not for me ante up a few extra dollars and get a nice one. There’s a difference between a 400 and 1000$ water heater… reliable hot water… ... show more

I am writing this review for the PROPANE version of the heater. The water heater is overall of very good quality. The most important information that should be included in the Installation section of the manual is that water line fittings are 3/4" NPT and that the gas inlet is also 3/4". If you want to hook this up to a propane tank (as I wanted to), you will have to get a 3/4 x 3/8 reducer and a standard propane hose with a low pressure regulator. The customer service does not know to tell you this. Also, the 3/4 gas fitting on the unit is not flared, so have some gas-rated thread tape. The function of the priority button on the remote controller is explained in manuals of other manufacturers (e.g., Rinnai) for similar water heaters; essentially once the unit is running you have to "take priority" in order to set a higher temperature, the "priority" button allows you to do that. Otherwise, you have to turn the unit off at the power button on the remote controller, then turn back on and immediately set the desired temperature. In my application, the unit needs to operate continuously for several hours at maximum flow and maximum temperature, and it achieves to do so. I am using this heater for a 4000 gallon pool. With a water pump rated at 7.66 GPM there are no problems. If the pump flow is set to a higher value (I tested 9.5 GPM) the burner will intermittently extinguish and the unit will report error code 12. ... show more

Arrived quick and was very easy to install. Unfortunately after about two months of working great, my unit quit on me. It wouldn’t ignite and showed “C0” error code. Wrote technical support and after a few weeks of trouble shooting, they sent me a new unit free of charge. I appreciate that kind of service. I am willing to to trouble shoot and try and fix it, but if it doesn’t work, a new unit is sometimes all that can be done. Now we have piping hot water again just in time for winter! ... show more
