  • One of the best lenses I own for Z9
This is hands down one of the best Z9 lenses. I have the 24-70 2.8 and the 70-200 2.8. I loathe my 24-70 lens. I hate the photo quality; grainy, poor clarity. One of the poorest pieces of glass I have owned. The 70-200 is fantastic, takes great shots, but is super heavy for traveling around with it, and I lose the lower mm shooting. So I purchased the Tamron with just the hope that I would like it better than the 24-70 and give me the lower mm again. This lens……WOW. It is crystal clear. Good bokeh. I have shot landscape, sunset/sunrise, graduation portraits, wildlife, storm photography and some astrophotography and it has been mind blowing in quality and composition. I took it on a 12 day vacation and used it the entire trip except for when I went birding and needed my telephoto lens. Lightweight, easy to travel around with, and the quality of the photos is amazing. Sharp and clear. The only glass I keep in my camera bag now are the Tamron and the Nikkor 100-400 with telephoto 2x converter for longer distance shots. The 24-70 and 70-200 just made themselves irrelevant. The above pic was shot on the Z9 with the Tamron lens, hour before sunset, on the beach. If you are on the fence, I would buy this lens over and over again. **this was my first non-Nikkor lens I have ever purchased. ... show more

  • Great bokeh
Speedy delivery. Arrived less than 3 days after ordering. The bokeh with f2 is very pleasing. This will be my one lens for baby, event & wedding photography. As others have mentioned, it's a heavy lens. After a 2hr event, I definitely felt it in my arms, especially with a large flash unit mounted on my camera. But at F2 - F2.8, there will be lots of times I won't need a flash. [Edit]: while there was no warranty card included, per se, I was able to successfully register the lens at Tamron USA with the serial # and proof of purchase PDF for their advertised 6 year warranty. The box also has a sticker saying that the seller is an authorized US Tamron dealer. ... show more

  • Excellent
I purchased this lens from raving reviews on YouTube and was very impressed with how sharp it was in the focused area. It renders beautiful Bokeh as well. It is a very useful range for me. The only downside is that It is a very, very heavy lens, not easy to carry around. I still love it.

  • Could be better

  • Great all around lens to carry in your bag!
This has been one of my all time favorite lenses to carry around. First time, I tried it was at a Tamron event and fell in love with the lens. It has been on my camera ever since I purchased it. Works amazing with my Nikon Z8 and images are sharp. Fast focusing on my Nikon Z8 and Z6 without any issues. Just be warned that this lens doesn't come with IS, so make sure you have it on in the camera body. Easy to upgrade firmware on the lens with the USB C port located on the lens itself. 82mm is the filter mount so be ready to spend a bit extra for lens filters. Color rendition is great as well. Now, the best part about owning a Nikon body is the micro adjustment. You could calibrate your lens to the body and have very sharp images. I can't complain about this lens. • Almost perfect
The lens is amazing. My only complaint is the weight, but I don’t mind it for what it gives me.

  • Versatile lens but has one major out of focus issue in my usage
I purchased this lens almost 2 weeks back. I am a professional photographer and do portraits, events, passports etc. The reason I bought this lens is because it gave me very good versatility when I am doing event photography, as it can go from 35mm to 150mm, which helps me cover zoom shots on a stage and also take wide shots for stage performances without changing any lens. I have not used the lens for any landscape photography as I am not a photography enthusiast and only use it for professional photography for my business. Before this, I have shooted many events using Nikon Z lenses 24-70 and 70-200 mm. Some of the advantages of the lens are as follows: 1. Very good versatile range 35 mm to 150 mm 2. Small size, though not very light 3. Supports Nikon Z size Now I come to the issue I am facing. I have realized that the lens is not able to auto focus sometimes randomly and capture slight out of focus pictures, even though the focus point is at the right place and the person is also stable. I will post some shots which shows the issue. Also, I realized that when compared to Nikon Z lenses the sharpness is about 95% of Nikon lenses, which is acceptable to me as trade off between versatility and top notch sharpness. What I can not live with is the out of focus issue, as I am missing crucial moments during my shoot and I have no way to fix them even in post processing. I have attached the photos for others to realize the issue. Now it may be that my specific piece has this problem, but this one is going back as I can not compromise on the picture quality to this level. ... show more
