Description

Heavyweight performance from a lightweight lens: The Tamron 100-400mm F/4.5-6.3 Di VC USD (A035) is a highly portable, ultra- telephoto zoom lens with AF precision for shooting in-the-moment action clearly and easily. Tamronʼs proprietary eBAND (Extended Bandwidth & Angular- Dependency) Coating prevents reflections, giving you clearer, more vivid images, while the 3 LD (Low Dispersion) glass elements effectively remove aberrations that can occur in telephoto lenses. With a lens barrel made primarily of magnesium, the Tamron A035 is the world's lightest zoom in the ultra-telephoto category (at time of launch), making it ideal for handheld shooting over long periods of time. Plus, Moisture-Resistant construction and a Fluorine-Coating on the front element provide additional protection when shooting outdoors. Precise AF tracking and VC (Vibration Compensation) are essential for ultra-telephoto lens performance. Tamronʼs Dual-MPU high-speed control system features an MPU (micro-processing unit) with a built-in DSP (Digital Signal Processor) for superior signal processing, plus a separate MPU dedicated exclusively to vibration compensation. With enhanced AF response speed and VC, you can accurately shoot fast-moving subjects with stability and ease - even in low-light. A built-in DSP (Digital Signal Processor) on the MPU delivers high speed processing of digital signals, ensuring excellent AF responsiveness. This allows you to track subjects moving at high speeds, even more accurately. The AF system also uses a USD (Ultrasonic Silent Drive) motor for outstanding performance and fast, precise focusing. The VC system has been further tuned with an enhanced control algorithm and an independent MPU dedicated to VC. Together, they meet a CIPA image stabilization performance level of 4 stops. While most ultra-telephoto lenses are prone to camera shake, the Tamron A035 delivers excellent stability for reliable, stress-free handheld shooting. Functions as advertised Mounted on Nikon 5300 crop sensor DSLR and a Nikon d600 works on both. Zoom ring is smooth , auto focus is quiet, quick and accurate. These are cropped images. Sun photo taken with a solar filter mounted in front of the lens. All taken at 400mm focal length.

bought this lens for my wife to use with my D500 Nikon rather than spend 2,000.00 for a Nikon ... after I downloaded her photos after our trips shooting wildlife and flowers I could not believe how sharp her photos were... Very happy with this lens. Using it to take pictures and videos of kid’s softball games. Images are sharp and focus is pretty quick. It can be handheld for pictures, but was a little unwieldy for video. Using a monopod gave better results.

    • This is a third party seller with restocking fees for returns !!

The lens is wonderful absolutely no issues. But please note this is a third party seller on Amazon and has a restocking fees of about $102 in case you need to return it, even with in your window and this is not mentioned in the product description. Learnt it the hard way !

I ordered this lens about two weeks ago on my wife's AMZ credit card for monthly payments. Delivery was scheduled for 2/24 - 2/29. Today the Tamron store cancelled my order with no explanation. I looked further and saw the lens is now selling for about $660; when I ordered it was about $575. Seems like a deceptive practice to list at one price and then cancel to sell higher. If this what they want then sell on e-Bay or some other auction site. The store should be banned to sell on AMZ. ... show more
