  • Good deal
I ordered this hotspot to bring to school because the Wi-Fi is terrible. I knew that I would have to buy my own Sim card for this but after I did purchase it, the hotspot stopped turning on even after it was charged. I requested an exchange, and the new one that I received works perfectly. I am paying $10 a month for the data and I think that’s a pretty good deal for how much I spent and the quality I received, compared to how much I would spend if I bought one directly from T-Mobile. ... show more

  • Don't waste your money
The 10 GB sim card that comes with this hotspot device doesn't work. The instructions that come with the device are next to useless, with extremely small text and what is explained, does not explain how to activate the sim card that comes with it. It also doesn't explain that you need to activate the device at a T-mobile store. It also doesn't tell you that you can pre-pay or post pay. After paying $40 at T-mobile to buy 30 GB of data (without ever accessing the 10 GB that came with the device, I wanted to top off the prepaid data because I was traveling on business and ran out of data after only 14 days. I needed enough for the rest of the month. Unfortunately, another thing they don't tell you when you buy this device is that you can only top off the data by 10 GB through the rest of the month. What good is a mobile hotspot if you can't purchase the amount of data you need? There's also an activation fee. Useless. Don't waste your money or your time. ... show more

  • Works way better than the stock T-mobile hotspot
I'm a gamer. I want to be able to use the T-mobile hotspot to game / surf the web. I used to be able to do that, back circa 2016 up to like 2020, the hotspot was a reliable connection. Then it got so intermittent that I couldn't play a game that needed a steady connection like an MMORPG. I tried switching carriers to Verizon and that was it's own mini disaster, where I am located the Verizon network was terrible. Even in a city hub I had 1 to 2 bars, and the hotspot was unusable really. Out of almost desperation I bought this Franklin mobile hotspot. Despite buying it not as a "renewed" item. It was definitely used. It had a T-mobile empty used Sim card-card inside the box (the card that has the SIM attached was empty) . I was expecting this and took it to T-mobile. They installed a new card, got my plan going and it's been great ever since. I disconnected 3 times back to back in a 15 minute time span, but since it has been a steady connection. I can't attest to it's battery life, I always have it plugged in. ... show more

  • Work for the most part
Works extremely well in New York, however in Texas I hardly receive 4G coverage. Battery life is great and for the cost it's value for money, it's also easy to use.

  • Easy to use Works great
Easy to use. You buy a sim data card separately. Hooks you right up to wifi. Got for smart tv. Runs perfectly. Cute, dependable, nice price. Easy to use as a portable hotspot. Take it with you. With added sim data card it's affordable and does the job. Runs multiple devices at once. No problems at all. Very happy with this. ... show more

  • doesn't work with Google Fi new 5G sim?
I had high hopes for this hotspot, as there are reviews from last week saying it works out of the box with Google Fi. Those reviews caused me to sign up for Google Fi and order a data only SIM. Google Fi sent me a Data Only SIM that says 5G. I activated the SIM and inserted it into an old phone running Android 4.4 and it didn't work. So I inserted it into this T9 hotspot and it says "No Service." I call Google Fi and they tell me their data only SIM requires that the Google Fi app be downloaded and signed in on the device using the Data Only SIM, so it knows what network the device can connect to. WTH I have used Google Fi in the past with their old LTE Data Only SIMs and this was not required. Google Fi app is only compatible with Android 7 and above, which is why I can't download it on my old phone. So Idk how the reviewers from last week were able to use the Google Fi Data Only SIM in this hotspot. Perhaps they have an old LTE SIM that doesn't require the Google Fi app. Google is not willing to send me an old LTE SIM and I don't see any for sale on reseller websites so this is a dead end. ... show more
