Well, it happened and there was a little curb rash. Many people will use rim protectors and call it a day. Personally, I like the rims and want them to shine. Here is what you’ll need to do: Sand down any roughness from the curb rash. Make it smooth. I use a Dremel and increasing levels of grit until it is fairly smooth. Wipe clean. Make sure to shake this paint for 2 minutes. You want it properly mixed. Apply in one direction, but don’t glob it on. Less is more here. Let it dry and if you need to layer, that is okay. After that, apply a little clear coat to protect it. The paint is a pretty good match (not exact), but is very easy to apply. Would be even better if they had the option for a pen tip (in addition to brush). There is some metallic as well, which helps with that satin finish on the rim. Overall, I am quite pleased with the touch up paint, from the quality and pricing. ... show more

I bought my 2021 Tesla Model Y Performance used, and 3 out of 4 of the wheels had been curbed. 2 out of 4 had red paint embedded in the rash, so this knuclehead obviously curbed the wheels in a NO parking zone. LOL. Included in the deal was $65 x 3 to have the curb rash fixed. Instead of taking the car back to leaving it for a day to get the wheels fixed, I thought, "I'll try to fix it myself. If it doesn't come out good, I'm out $10 and if it does, I can get $195 back." I used a Dremmel with a sanding drum to gently take out the worst of the rash and then painted over those spots with this touch-up paint. BAM!! Good enough. If you get up close you can see the rash, but from more than 5-6" you don't even notice it. Keep in mind that the human eye is automatically drawn to the lightest/brightest object in a scene or photo, so the main reason curb rash gets your attention is due to the bare aluminum showing thru the gunpowder gray finish of the Uberturbine wheels. One change I made was to upsize the tires to 275/35-21 front and 295/35-21 rear and the tires now covers some of the rim that had rash AND provides protection against ME being the next knucklehead to curb my wheels. PROS: - Matches Uberturbine wheels perfectly - Easy to apply with the beveled applicator brush - Come with more than enough to fix your wheels and have some for future mishaps CONS: - IDK? It's paint so go slow and try to apply to only the areas where the finish is damaged. Be sure to shake it up to mix the paint well, as it is metallic paint. ... show more

I sanded the rough edges, used a little bondo to fill the gouges and re-sanded, then painted with the SYOAUTO Gunpowder Rim Touch Up Paint. It looks pretty good and is hard to see if you don't look specifically for it. Looks even better in direct sun than shade believe it or not. (picture is in shade) I'm tempted to sand once more and re-apply to see if I can get the brush strokes out. But if you're looking for perfect, not sure painting with a brush is going to get you there. ... show more

As you can see in the picture, there was significant curb rash damage to these rims. My friend and I sanded down the damage, and then used this paint with only 1-2 applications and these are the results. The paint match is nearly perfect, and you cannot even notice it from a distance, only a trained eye will spot it from more than 4-5 feet away. Excellent value for the money, highly recommend sanding the rim beforehand as that will get the best application.
