First off, this kite is so cute! The colors are vibrant, the eyeballs on the kite are adorable, not to mention the long, colorful tentacles (or jellyfish legs, as my niece was calling it lol) It's a great size so once it's in the air, it's still highliy visible and fun to watch :) It really looks like a squid, but to the kids, it was all kinds of sea creatures (mostly jellyfish lol) There's a lot of string which can be good or bad lol It was great because you could really give it some height, but we are by no means professional kite flyers, so be careful if you let too much string out -- if the wind dies down a bit, it gives too much slack to quickly and the kite can lose altitude quickly...plus can be hard to wind back in easily (especially if the kids are at the helm ><) It's a larger bodied kite, so also be mindful of how windy it is >< There are multiple attachment points/anchors to the strings, but since it catches so much air, might want to make sure it's not too windy before your squid goes bye-bye and flies away >< The only thing, like many other things in life that we buy lol, is the storage. It comes pretty stuffed in the bag you get it in, so there's no way it will go in looking like it came out. It fit back in there, but we had to roll some parts up and shove some thigs in lol. Hopefully it doesn't end up creasing the beautiful head part of the kite >< So we can't velcro the pouch back up, but it does technically fit lol Overall, as a spectator, I loved this kite. Came with all the bits for a nice day in the park. Just know that clean up takes a little time with this one >< especially with all it's super long (albeit super pretty ;p) legs ... show more

I'm an oceanic researcher, so I always enjoy finding ocean themed things for my kids. These were no exception. We took them to the beach on a windy day and while they did take awhile to get airborne, once they did, they worked great and went high. We played with them for several hours before winding them back in. While we could have used them again, we made such a mess of the string and some of the "tentacles" came off, so we ended up just trashing them. No complaints though, as that was more our fault for how we handled them and how insanely windy it was. They do look cool flying with all the tentacles waving. Kids had a blast. Love the design. I wish the packaging was a little better for presentation (the clear front doesn’t show what is in the bag; just a long string of warnings)… amongst those warnings it tells you to wear gloves when putting it together?? Is this a prop65 issue or a mistranslation? A little concerned by that. We’re in the North so will need to wait until the snow is off the ground to give it a go; but look forward to using in the Easter basket! While I can't speak to how it flies yet, since we have not had any windy days yet, I can speak to the quality of these kites. They are packaged really nicely and are larger than I expected them to be! I cannot wait to fly these with the kids because they seem extremely durable and are made out of high quality fabric. They do not seem cheap at all And they look and feel like they will fly great! The colors are very vibrant and I appreciate that this came in a set of two so both my kids can fly one. I have to admit I got these for a nephew and a niece; I thought when warm weather came, I would enjoy watching them having fun. However, I have changed my mind, (at least for a month or three), and I am using them in decorating my classroom. The colors blend so well they seem to shout 'Be cheerful!', which is definitely the environment I want in my classes. These kites are well-made; they will last for several flights, the way kids play. Your kids will have a blast. Or even yourself with a friend or nice date thing. My kids thought the octopus on the kites were funny. The tentacles int he sky was entertaining for them. Good quality. Not difficult to assemble & the colors pop up in the sky.
