I slept on a 6 inch 100% latex mattress for the last 16 years. It was at its end of life and the latex was tearing and breaking down. In addition, I am mostly a side and stomach sleeper, and I'm in my 60s now. Despite being very athletic I had started getting numbness and weakness on my whole right side. Time for an upgrade... I got the Starry Night 12 inch mattress on Prime Deal Days. Mine is made in Korea- which is a good thing- newer versions may be made in China. This mattress soft enough for me to sleep on my side without any complications. Sleeping on my side I do not get any numbness, and the mattress is firm enough for me to sleep on my stomach in complete comfort too. It has been fine when I do sleep on my back also without any back pain. The mattress does not get me hot. Finally, I do not feel the pocketed coil springs ever! I am 5'11" at 230Lbs. There are only a few reviews of this mattress on YouTube. Those reviews are great. A very recent review of a China made version of the mattress was not very positive. Lastly, some great news is that this mattress contains no fiberglass. It did not outgas, and I was able to sleep on it 8 hours after unboxing- it plumped up completely within 1 hour! ... show more

The mattress as a whole is still very beautiful. It is very comfortable to lie down and try it. It is very cost-effective and worth the money at this price. This is a very decent mattress. It's firm and feels like what it is. It's by no means a high end luxury mattress. But it's about right for the price tag. I sleep extremely well on it. It reached its impressive full size within 3 or 4 hours as far as I could tell. It feels like your sleeping on well supported memory foam. Not a deeply plush soft cloud; you'll need to drop another 500 more for one of those. But if you're not looking for complete luxury, you'll be fine with this. ... show more

I’m really glad I purchased this mattress. First time buying a mattress in a box and I was fully prepared to think “meh it’s just for now- it was only $300 ish” however after sleeping on it for 3 weeks, I’m smitten. Pros: -great edge control -comfortable -easy to move around when it’s shipped (although it is heavy!!) -no funky smell/ inflated to full size quickly -I feel very supported while I’m sleeping- I’m a side and stomach sleeper-typically- no hip or shoulder pain! -you/your bedmate won’t feel moving/shifting/getting up- great movement isolation -the pattern on the mattress cover is cute! A couple cons- by no means deal breakers imo -definitely firm- if you’re looking for more plush, grab a mattress topper for this. -it does run hot- a cooling mattress topper would help this out quite a bit. My wife and I bought this after a friend suggested this model. In terms of firmness, on a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the firmest, it's probably about a 7. It's actually soft, but you can tell quickly that it's not super soft like a hotel mattress. We wanted something that was not like a hotel bed because I had lower back pain from an injury. Overall, this mattress sort of covers both areas of being soft and supportive. Some people may need more support than what this provides, and some people might want more softness. For those who want a bit of both, this does it well. I don't wake up and shift positions frequently from discomfort with this mattress, so that's a benefit I appreciate. The price for value is also quite good. We actually spent much more money on a mattress from Costco that wasn't better in terms of quality. The Costco mattress was too soft, so we looked at this option among others. In terms of smell, there really wasn't much of any, which is what I prefer. Just a very subtle plastic-like smell for a day or so. Considering the price, which was about $300 less than other mattresses we bought in the past, we're quite satisfied with it. ... show more

I read and followed the instructions this mattress came with. I let the mattress rest and expand on a frame after opening for at least 72 hours. Before sitting or sleeping on it. I believe I am using a good frame. I did not roll on the mattress for 10 to 30 minutes like suggested though. Maybe for about 5 minutes, so the first night was stiff. I was not surprised since I chose one that has individually pocketed coils. After the second night though I was impressed. Soft yet not overly soft. I prefer a former feel in a mattress. Comfortable and not sinking in at all. For 300 bucks including shipping for a 95 pound mattress. Without having to use a box spring, I am impressed. I will admit I rolled the dice on this purchase. I have nothing to compare this type of mattress to. If it lasts for a few years without breaking down, and then it starts to sink in. I will be satisfied I got a good value and probably buy another one. I agree with the other reviewers. That for the money this Sweet Night mattress deserves the perfect 5 star rating I based my purchasing decision on. That, and this mattress is a newer model. That is made by company that has experience in making and shipping these type of mattresses. So I figured they have made the necessary refinements in their manufacturing process.
