I ordered an aqua, 1mm, hard, lower guard and am so impressed with the quality of the guard, it's comfort, and the truly incredible customer service! This company even responded to my email on a Saturday night despite being closed on weekends. The HUNDREDS of dollars in savings, from getting a mouthguard from a dentist vs ordering from Sweetguards, plus the time savings is a win-win! Best part: NO messy impression junk left in your mouth (unlike at the dentist)! Anyone who's had it done by a dentist knows exactly what I'm talking about. I am THRILLED to have found this company! My old mouthguard cracked and I was in need of a new one quickly. My dentist couldn't get me in for another month and it would have been at least 2-3 months until I'd be able to get a new mouthguard. By contrast, the entire process with Sweetguards only took 2 weeks! It could have been as quickly as 1 week but I needed to do another set of impressions since I messed up the first two that were provided. The kit comes with materials to make 2 impressions, including 3 differently sized trays (large #2, meduim #4, small #6). I initially did a Size 2 tray (the largest) but after sending photos to their customer service, that impression wasn't quite deep enough. I then tried a Size 4 and really pressed hard which ended up not making a good impression. Sweetguards mailed me a new kit right away with two more tries at making a good impression. Although the larger size (#2) was more uncomfortable, it kept the form better and ensured my front teeth were centered in the impression. *** Go as big as you're able to and be sure to press down fairly hard but not too aggressively. *** After submitting photos again to Sweetguards and getting the thumbs up, I scheduled a USPS pickup and sent in the prepaid package. They received it on a Monday, shipped my mouthguard the next day and I received it by that Thursday. Just wore it overnight and it was tight but comfortable. Highly recommend! ... show more

I had my wisdom teeth pulled and had to get a new night guard. I shopped around and chose this brand because you don't need to heat up anything- the putty is self-setting and super easy to use. You use hands to combine two types of putty into a roll, put the roll into a mold and bite into it while it sets to create an impression. The whole process took about 5 mins. When it's dry you take three photos and email them for review and approval to ship. They responded quickly, within two hours, and I mailed in my impression. About a week later I got my new guard at home. I would definitely order this product for my next guards. Pros: Really excellent fit. The guard is thin and perfectly comfortable. Making the impression was easy. The cost was about a third of what I paid for a giard via my dentist office. They provided a complete extra set of putty and trays to make a second impression and recommended that you send in both to make sure you get the best fit. I really liked that! Cons: that extra step of taking 3 photos and emailing them in advance might be cumbersome for some people. It's not immediately clear where to find your order number, which is required. I came in knowing what I'm looking for. I had tried a competitor that makes custom nightguards and we couldn't get the impression right. The guard was always off-balanced when I received it (either a gap on the right or left side of the mouth. I tried twice and had to return twice...both guards were not fitting on my teeth correctly. I didn't want to pay $600 at my dentist, so I thought I'd give SweetGuard a try. I'm very happy that I did. My thoughts: **Price: Similar to competitor, around $150 each **Quality: Similar to competitor, good solid material. I went with hard 2mm upper guard. **Delivery: Better than competitor! I can't believe how fast it was. I mailed it out Monday and not notification that it was shipping that friday, 4 days later. So they must've gotten my impressions wednesday or thursday, processed the nightguard and mailed it out next day. Unbelievable! The competitor took a week and a half (9-10 days) from shipping to mailing. **Impressions: At first, it seems both company have similar process to take impressions. Both very simple and straightforward. But the competitor couldn't get the guards right with their impression. I tried twice and both times I got guards that were off-balance. Before I took the impression with Sweetguards, I emailed them with the concern with getting off-balanced guards. Since my kit came with two impression kits, they suggest I take two impressions and they will use the best one. The whole process was very smooth. I sent both back. In the end, I was very afraid that it'll be another failed experiment, but to my surprise, the guard came back fitting perfectly! My dentist was offering me a $700 mouthguard which was way out of my budget. I always had a problem with the ones I would buy from target. The ones you boil and bite down on. They are too cushy and thick, so they made me bite more in my sleep. Like the jaw doctor I spoke with said, your body when you sleep will treat it like steak, and you'll be chewing all night. Yep. But these sweet guards are great! I got the upper one the was the middle level of thickness and hard. So far so good! Much more comfortable sleeping. Also received the final mold in a decent amount of time from when I sent the mold. I highly recommend these if you have issues of teeth grinding. Save your teeth and some money! ... show more
