  • Great Table Tennis robot for the price.
I don't usually write reviews for products, but I'm so pleased with this SUZ table tennis robot that I am making an exception. I feel that a company that makes such a fine product for such a reasonable price should be recognized for their work. I have it set up in my attached garage, and have been using it off and on for about 6 months. It's working very well, and has not given me any problems. I make sure to keep the motor wheels, and balls clean, but that's all I've had to do to maintain it. I especially like the remote control. There are TT robots that have more features, but they cost a lot more. For the price this SUZ robot is hard to beat. I paid full price for this product, and have not been compensated in any way for this review. BTW, I named it Marvin. I like to name all of my robots. ... show more

  • Overall, it is a nice robot for playing and improving the game
I have been playing with this robot for the past 2 weeks and love it. It is fun to play. Cannot say much about the durability as I haven't used it for long. I don't like (and I am surprised) that it has no off-and-on button for power. I take the batteries out after playing to prevent battery drain. The instruction manual is not detailed enough to provide clear understanding of how to assemble it, but it is intuitive. Also, the manual does not elaborate on the various play settings. I would have given a 5 rating if not for these shortcomings. ... show more

  • Excellent for Practicing Basic Skills and Getting Exercise
I bought this machine to 1. practice and switch from penhold to shakehand and 2. get some exercise. Over all, the machine exceeds my expectations on both. It’s certainly better than any partner I can practically expect to practice basic skills with, let alone the conveniences. Top tip: Keep a duster such as Swiffer handy. Dust the table and machine head, including inside the barrel, from time to time. This is especially true if you have a furry friend around. My typical sessions run 45 – 60 min each. I use about 150 balls, for which I extended the bucket a bit to accommodate. Example: The machine is rested on the table at the far end and center so I don’t have to move it within a session. “Top spin” pointing up. The primary spin (top or under) is set at 8 or 9; the opposite spin 3 or 4. Serving frequency 4 – 9 depending on what I work on. 1. Forehand (top or back spin), no head swing 2. Collect floor balls (most end in the net) and practice serve (no machine) 3. Backhand, no head swing 4. Collect floor balls and practice serve (no machine) 5. Forehand and backhand with head swing (this accomplishes goal #2 for the most part) I’d repeat some of these. My observations: In basic technical terms, it's better than playing with a partner. Power: 7/10 (plenty but not smashing speed) Spin: 7 (plenty) Placement: 8. I’d estimate within 3” radius and slight side spin one way or the other. I see the variant as a plus, as it keeps me focused and more aware of returning to position. Serving Frequency: 7. At 9, it’s about the speed of practicing with a partner back & forth without hard hits. Swing: 8. Good range and points in between, and with good randomness. Limitations (but keep in mind of the price tag): While it’s excellent at practicing basic skills, it can’t really simulate a real game. For example, depth is partly controlled with moving head up & down, which is not motorized. It can’t randomize power of the ball, or the level and direction of spin. Since one can’t tell spin direction when the ball leaves the barrel, too much spin variation won’t work either. Potential improvements (again, keep price tag in mind): Since spin is already motorized, a firmware level upgrade could improve the machine’s ability to add more randomness. Combining that with an app on smartphone would make the sessions a lot more programmable. Adding motor control to the head would be a major upgrade but would make it fully programmable. I hope it’s durable... ... show more

  • Awesome, great for solo beginner practice
I was a little hesitant to drop a a couple hundred dollars on a ping pong machine but it's well worth it. As someone who was decent at ping pong playing up naturally, the most I ever got to practice was just playing games amongst friends. You can't really do a lot of hits in a game or take risky shots and this lets you get in a couple hundred hits in 10 minutes. It really helps build muscle memory for hitting shots. The speeds and variations of shots it can send at you is really impressive. The only thing I dislike is the remote doesn't have an on/off switch so I have to take the batteries out when I'm done but it's not really a big deal. I can easily work up a sweat when practicing with this machine. The amount of balls it comes with was a nice bonus and I had already bought another pack of 100 so I can keep the thing loaded for a long time. ... show more

  • Excellent machine, but not well calibrated
Misses the mark a lot and just throws the ball away, but this could be reduced with better programming. Otherwise, it's a solid robot and can work you out and drastically improve your ping-pong skills. Buy it. You won't regret it at all.

  • not strong enough

  • Excellent beginner practice robot
I've been using the robot for a couple months now and it's worked great. The robot was simple to put together, took 5 minutes, and very simple to use. I was pleasantly surprised the package came with 100 three star practice balls. Not a big deal to me but the last 2 or so balls won't shoot out because of the design. My only complaint is the remote itself does not have an on/off switch. It stays on when not in use and will drain the batteries. I take the batteries out after every use. Overall, because of how well the robot works I still give it five stars. ... show more
