These Susan Bates crochet hooks have become my favorites. The handle is comfortable to hold for when I'm stitching for long periods. The tip of the hook is somewhat pointed and a bit narrower than other hooks which makes it easier to insert in between stitches and pull yarn overs. And since I've switched to these hooks, yarn splitting has been eliminated. Pictured is the waistband of a sweater I started. I have been using tapered crochet hooks since I started. I had been interested in inline hooks for a while and after watching favorable reviews for the Prym hooks, I ordered them and loved them. They are longer and the handle, not exactly rounded, does wonders for the hand and wrist. The Pryms are plastic but unlike any other plastic… they glide like butter… with acrylic and other “softer” yarns. Cotton yarn and the like are a different story. So, I started my journey again. I came across the Susan Bates Soft Ergonomic set and researched reviews to find them mostly favorable. For $12.75, they would be a steal, if they worked. I decided to go for it. They are most definitely worth even more than the asking price. It took me a minute or two to adjust to the differences between my original tapered and the inline, but ultimately I really like them. I still prefer my Pryms, but these work well with yarns that don’t play well with plastic , wood or acrylic. I shouldn’t imagine anyone would be disappointed with this set. ... show more

I love my Furls crochet hooks, however depending on the project - I will choose these Susan Bates hooks and they are a joy to use. I’ve always loved the inline tips as I find that they hold the yarn better when making stitches. I used these hooks to make a checkered blanket in Tunisian crochet and they worked perfectly! I bought these because the throat of the hook is longer than most, I appreciate that. That being said I do prefer Boye style hooks. These Susan Bates hooks are good quality and comfortable to hold, just my personal preference is a Boye or Clover head. If you're a Susan Bates fan, these are good hooks for a good price. ... show more

The point on this hook makes it so easy to get through tight loops. The metal is super smooth and doesn’t drag the yarn. I hold my hook like a like and it is still long enough and comfortable for me. I have tried so many different hooks and this is my absolute favorite!!
