I bought this to replace a 23 yr old conversion van CRT. After reading all the reviews, It seemed people liked this unit over a competing brand because the other unit had a clunky remote. This remote works very well IMO. SO good choice there. Speaker and sound level output is not great on ANY TV in this price/use case scenario. Know that going in. Rattling down the road in a 23 yr old vehicle that has 8 million screws added by conversion jockeys is an orchestra of clanks and bangs. Add wheelchairs, lifts and an engine at your feet and you get the idea. You need to ROCK OUT with sound. That means either a sound bar.(My 24 in size had no blue tooth- BIG MISTAKE) or you will need other output choices. I wanted to use the factory 4 speakers which were already drilled and mounted in my roof and rear panel. When I was reviewing this unit I saw 3 RCA jacks that were in a picture labelled OUT. Great, I can use those, convert that to an HDMI and have 2 HDMI signals! TV arrived and they were not there. I had been looking at pictures of another unit size- but same page and add. They do not all have the same outputs..sigh. I was able to use the headphone out to an RCA splitter, but my bad for not looking at the adds closer- but the info was VERY scrambled.. TV has a load screen that takes about 15 seconds to clear- every time. And changing to DVD repeats the 15 second load screen. DVD player is excellent. It reloads to your last place on a new power cycle which is impressive. You can unload the DVD with the remote. I was able to output the optical SPIF to PCM and RAW formats with no issue. This TV keeps the TV speakers active during this format which I liked. Most units shut off the TV speakers if another output is active. Picture quality meets my expectations for what it is. Know what you are buying here folks. I use a firestick on this with no issues. I was able to pair it for volume and power control to the kindle remote. Awesome. Just followed the Kindle instructions- took several tries to get the right signals, but kindle found this TV brand and kept trying until it worked. Nice TV that packages well in a conversion high top van. Its very long and not too tall (24 in model) I used a 20 dollar wall mount that locks in place so this is stable on the road. Fast shipping: 2 days. So glad they still make small kitchen TVs! What would I do without it while I'm cooking dinner? This is my 3rd Supersonic TV for my kitchen. They last about 8 years. My second one died during the Atmospheric River (Bomb Cyclone) a week ago here in Eureka, CA. I placed the new one on a 5 ft. cabinet top. The picture is a bit washed out until you sit down at the table where you can see the color and picture at its best angle, just below the level of the TV. The "Wizard Setup" made it very easy for a dunce like me to set up the channels. Sound not the greatest, but, I'm going to put a speaker up there behind it. Thanks, Amazon! ... show more

Update 1/10/15 I am finally happy with this TV. I bought a set of USB speakers (Earise AL-101) for $12 here on Amazon. Took me forever to figure out how to connect them. The male speaker connection goes into the earphones connection on the back of the TV. They work great and completely solved the tinny sound problem. I'm so happy I'm pushing the stars up to four! If I can ever get my Comcast remote completely programmed, so I don't have to use two remotes, it'll get four and a half. Five stars would mean that SuperSonic responded and answered my questions. Don't think that's likely. *********************** Update 12/23/14 I took the TV to Orchard Supply Hardware yesterday to find some replacement screws. A really great Orchard employee helped me by setting the screws that came with the TV. Thanks Orchard! No thanks to Supersonic, who never got back to me. We now have the TV up and operating. We bought it to replace a Toshiba 15" TV for our kitchen because we needed a TV with an HDMI port for our new Amazon Fire Stick. Which is absolutely FABULOUS, BTW! Picture is pretty good except at an angle. Really needs to be viewed almost straight-on. Very nice resolution. The sound is definitely inferior to our old Toshiba 15". Now I am looking for some small speakers for use with it. Any recommendations would be much appreciated (I certainly now know better than to bother Supersonic with this) We're also having a problem with our Comcast remote. We need to reprogram it for the new TV, but the recommended 5 digit number for Supersonic on the Comcast site doesn't work. So, some good, some not so good. But looks like we'll keep it for now. Changing stars from two to three. ***************************** Message sent to Supersonic Tech Support 12/19/14 Supersonic SC-1512 15.6-Inch Class LED HDTV with Built-in DVD Player The four screws for attaching the base that came with this item are too big in diameter for the pre-drilled holes in the chassis. I need replacements ASAP, or instructions on how to make these work. Can't use the TV without a base. I'll have to return the TV if this can't be resolved. ... show more

This device was a nice size and seemed to have useful features. That's about it for the Pros. For the Cons, it wouldn't take the correct aspect ratio no matter what we did. The remote kept making its own choices. The DVD player made a significant grinding noise. The picture quality was quite awful. Could be that we got a dud, but I'm not giving it another try. ... show more
