When I put 37’s on my 2021 JL, between the relocation bracket and needing to move the CHMSL up, the factory wires were too short. Plus, if I reused that light, it blocked even more of the rear window. I was also not really wanting to cut up the factory wiring harness. This light solved all those problems. Fit right in behind the spare tire. Didn’t block any more of the window. Used factory wiring connectors. Very simple plug and play install. I’m very happy with how it looks overall. I’ve had it for a few weeks so I don’t know about the longevity of it. Will update if anything changes. But so far, so good. ... show more

Very nicely built with good instructions. Read about issues about running the additional wiring was difficult to put back together. I ran the wiring up the other side and taped it up against the plastic. Went back together with no issues then. BTW, this is plug n play for 18-current JLs, no trimming of any tab required. ... show more

Really easy plug and play. Half the battle is removing the spare tire, especially if you have large tires. No issues worked right out of the box. Plugged into the existing harness. I was hoping it would light up all the time but it doesn't

Had to make some minor modifications to the inside of the 3rd brake light bracket to fit the wiring harness with a Dremel tool (Nothing extensive and completely unnoticeable). Light works great and is attention getting when applying the brake during stops. Highly recommend this for anyone who has a JL Wrangler. ... show more

My light was easy for my husband to install. The instructions and YouTube video made the process pretty smooth.. No splicing and hoping everything is connected right. Just plug in the plugs and put the spare back on and then you are good to go. No regrets here!

So this definitely took me longer than 15min but it wasn’t too bad. I have a 2018 JLU and I was looking to completely remove the stock 3rd brake light. In order to do this you have to remove the spare, disconnect the 3rd brake light then remove the spare tire carrier to free up the wire that holds the pesky plastic piece in place. After you remove the connector from the stock light it will have a black wire and a white/green striped wire. Use scotch locks and connect the black to black and the red to the white/green. Using scotch locks will allow you to hook this up without cutting any wires and it will allow you to keep the stock connector in place should you ever need to put the old unit back on. Once finished wrap up the extra wire with zip ties and wrap the connections with electrical tape to keep water out. ... show more
