I love this mat. I'm so happy I ordered it. Shipping was fast and there was no damage. My size: I am 5'8" and 175 and this mat is a fine size for me. The mat's size: 2 ft wide x 6 ft long x 2 in deep Folded in the carrying position it is 23 in x 23 in x 5.5 in and very lightweight & easy to carry because it has handles. The feel: the outside is a very soft vinyl. The foam material inside is good, and I am not feeling the floor through it. It is soft, and that is what I wanted. I bought this because my joints are bony and sensitive. It's working great. If I begin to feel the floor or it slides, I will just put a standard yoga mat under it for the grip and additional cushioning. If my hands get sweaty and slip on the mat (which has not happened yet) I will put a gripping yoga towel on it. The smell: At first I didn't notice a smell, but after a few hours with it closed in a room I noticed it when I went in there. There is a slight menthol smell to it. I'm going to air it out for a week or two and see if it goes away. If it doesn't I will update the review since I really dislike odors. This is the only thing that slightly concerns me so I'm keeping the 5 stars for now. UPDATE (the next day): The smell goes away! I aired it out in my mudroom overnight and it somewhat dissipated, but then I hung it outside for about 5 or 6 hours and the smell is 90% gone. I think if I air it out tomorrow it will be completely gone. The look: It looks really nice and sleek. The packaging says it maintains its original shape, and it seems like it will.     • Great Workout Mat
Not sure what is going on with this product, but mine came as described in the product description (ordered mid-Sept 2011). The foam is 2 inches thick, and neither as hard as cement, nor so soft you sink through it to the ground. I have a bad back, and can't do stretches or abdominal exercises on the ground, or even on a traditional yoga mat without a lot of pain. When my running clinic coach announced that we will be doing runners yoga and abdominal exercises on the ground (the first day we actually did them on the track surface in the rain--ouch!)--I knew I needed something I could use outdoors that would let me participate without hurting for the next week. This product worked perfectly. It folds up somewhat, and fits in my trunk easily. A little rain won't hurt it, dirt can be wiped off, I can use it on paved or grassy surfaces, and it provides enough support to my back that I don't feel the ground through the foam, yet it still cushions. I have been very happy with it over the past couple of months of training. I paid about forty bucks, with free shipping thanks to Amazon Prime (oh, and I am NOT affiliated with the company as one reviewer seems to be accusing other reviewers!) ... show more

    • Easy to store, use, not as padded but doable.

When you're on hard floor or taking it outside on concrete the padding isn't all that great if you get on your knees. On your back it is fine or standing on it is fine as well. Very easy to move around and store out of the way. Just wish the padding was much better.
