When the lid closes, the clatter of plastic hitting plastic was a bit much. I bought some small felt bumpers SoftTouch Self-Stick 3/8" Furniture Felt Pads Value Pack for Hard Surfaces (84 piece) - Oatmeal, Round and installed four of them on the inside of the lid where the doors hit. Perfect! Sound is now muffled and the color matches, too! 2. Very infrequently, one of the doors gets stuck open. It only takes a moment to give it a little nudge and it pops closed, but it does happen sometimes. Overall, I'm very happy with the function and performance of this lid. We had purchased the slim recycle bin and a plastic lid. The hard plastic lid quickly broke and we needed a replacement. This lid fits perfectly and it's resin construction will provide a longer life than the hard plastic.

I bought this to keep my garbage can closed while I'm working but for some reason, it won't close well at all. The counterweights are on the two lids and the connection to the pivot points are free but still it won't close. I've tried to put white lithium on the joints where the lids connect to the body in the hope that it would loosen it up to where it would finally close, but that effort resulted in no effect at all. Unfortunately, and as disappointing as it is, for the price I'd recommend not going with this product. ... show more

I was initially thrown by the lid costing nearly as much as the can but it's definitely worth it. The lid is weighted and self-closing. Much, much nicer than a typical resin lid.
