  • A bold new take on the classic Street Fighter harmony pays off by being inventive & creative.
Platform For Display: PlayStation 5 Edition: Standard
Street Fighter 6 is without a doubt a SF unlike any we have yet to experience. Not only is there a myriad of new modes such as the RPG-like Main Story Mode (where you can create your own personal avatar), but the game has been made much more accessible to people of all skill levels, whether that be people who were no good at the previous SF's or veterans alike. Capcom has implemented a diverse set of control setups that can make the trickiest of combos much more approachable to players not accustomed to fighting games. But if that worries you vets out there, fret not, because there is the classic style control scheme as well. The fights are unpredictable and fun and at launch there is enough versatility in characters to easily aid any player in finding their favorite. Ryu is of course the obvious go-to all-rounder, but newcomers such as Jamie, Kimberly & even Lily keeps things moving in forward. A whole slew of new fighting styles accompany some of these new fighters such as the Pankration fighting style of ancient Greece, a dancing ballerina fight style and even a drunken warrior combat style. The game offers in depth training with each of its characters that lets players learn and practice each fighters special moves until they are content with the inputs. Already at launch we have an excellent fighting game, but with many DLC fighters already on the horizon to be released, Street Fighter 6 has a bright future ahead and could very well be the fighter that dominates the competition for years to come!! ... show more

  • Easily best pick up and game fighting game
Platform For Display: PlayStation 5 Edition: Standard
I enjoy have my fighting games but I never had been street fighter guy. I was more of tekken guy due to the pace and not crazy amount of machines. Especially for 6 they stream lined the guy never the new machinces are easy to understand and pace feels well paced. The net code pretty solid and I have been finding matches. The modern controls are fun and good set up for beginners where making special attacks easier and combo are more streamline. The classic is still great for veteran players of the series and helps to go out in depth with combos. I do feel this game much better 5 and has a lot to do in game with the story mode and battle hub. Honestly I do recommend this game to anyone who’s looking into fighting games. Plus the characters pass looks solid with Akuma coming in spring ... show more

  • Perfect for getting into Fighting Games
Platform For Display: PlayStation 5 Edition: Standard
For the amount of content you get for only $60 is really nice especially the standard for game pricing went up to $70, which I’m fine with as long as the means are justified. Off the bat there are three game modes: World Tour which combines RPG elements with beat em’ up with the classic Street Fighter. It gives you a story to follow that’s a bit cheesy but it fits so well for how the game world works. Fans of the Final Fight series will love it. If you’ve Never played a fighting game before or you’re like me and absolutely suck at these games, this mode teaches you EVERYTHING you need to play and will carry over into when you eventually try fighting online players. There’s side quests for you to complete and there’s a set of characters that are there to literally teach you the game mechanics via detailed description and then they make you do the moves. Feels good, man. Here’s where it gets a little contentious, this game introduces “Modern Controls.” Some toxic purists who swear by classic controls say they’re at disadvantage fighting against modern controls. Those controls were designed to bring in new players who play games like smash bros. Gone are the days you have to input eighteen control buttons to do a spinning dash kick. The best part about modern controls? You can still do classic inputs while playing on modern controls to mix it up. It’s a great stepping stone if you eventually want to learn classic controls! The second mode is the battle hub. Think of this as the call of duty lobby but this time you can walk around and spectate other players fighting on cabinets, fight other players on cabinets using the street fighter characters or use your world tour avatar to fight other player’s avatars. There’s also classic Capcom games to be played here too! While there’s quite a bit of menus you’ll need to learn to navigate, you’ll get used to it. Here is the place you also do your ranked matches for online fights and casual online fights. The third mode is for practicing and learning everything you need to learn for using the characters; combos, drive impacts and all the special moves. Everything. They have settings for you to have the opponent react in certain ways after you do something. They do a light punch when getting up so you learn to block it. Anything you can think of for training in certain circumstances can happen here. You can also log your button inputs to see where you went wrong on your inputs. YOU CAN EVEN SEE HOW MANY FRAMES YOUR ATTACKS AND INPUTS TAKE. That’s huge if you’re into the competitive aspect of the game. Here’s why i didn’t give it 5 stars. It’s PLAGUED with overly expensive micro transactions. Even the dlc characters and stages are insanely expensive. 30 dollars for 4 characters and some stuff. 50 dollars if you want the same 4 characters and stuff and a couple stages. The base game was 60 and it came with 20 characters, three game modes and the works. The cosmetics are insane for only having the looks. 60 dollars if you want to have all for Ninja Turtle outfits. If you want just the character? You have to spend 20 dollars for the amount that equals 10-11 dollars. You’ll never be able to purchase the exact amount for what you want. Gotta over spend to get the base stuff you’ll want. Did i mention there’s a battle pass? There’s a battle pass. It has more cosmetics and secondary currencies to buy more stuff in game. That’s another 15-20 dollars there. The sad thing is the rewards for the paid battle pass are not that great either. It’s a slap in the face. It’s just downright ugly corporate greed. For that, 4 stars. Pros: excellent for beginners. Great learning process. Fun game play, modern controls are amazing. World Tour mode is perfect. Cons: Plagued by ridiculously expensive dlc and microtransactions. Make sure you’ve paid your rent, bills and bought your groceries before looking at the battle pass and DLC. ... show more

  • A Fantastic & Fun Arcade Fighter!
Platform For Display: PlayStation 5 Edition: Standard
If you are looking for a fun game & are into arcade fighters, you should pick up this game. Street Fighter 6 has the old school feel with modern day gameplay & fantastic graphics. Not only does it have the normal Street fighter base gameplay but, it has a mode where you create your own character to move through "missions" & build up your experience. Then, you can use the player you created to move into a mode where you can compete against other people around the world as you build up your character's experience. Also, in this mode, you can compete in ranked gameplay that has you "fight" as the regular Street fighter characters & build up your stats. This game is fun & worth getting! i give this game a 9/10 ... show more
