  • I Loved Mine So Much, I Bought More!
Discovered and bought one of this model at a hunting expo. After experiencing its excellence, I went to Amazon for more. First, it's simple. Press the end cap slightly and the light comes on. Press harder and "click!" the light stays on until the next click. There is no complicated computer chip programmed to watch for patterns of button pushes so it can render fancy patterns of light, for a few weeks until the chip fails or I forget the button-push pattern. Second, it's bright - surprisingly so. Very nice amount of light. Third, it uses two, common, AAA batteries. Fourth, it is small, light, sturdy, and water-resistant. It is a good size to hold in your mouth, if you must, as in changing a tire. (Try that with a thicker flashlight!) Fifth, it has a pocket clip, onto which I attach a loop of para-cord that is long enough to use as a lanyard, but short enough that the flashlight hangs just above my belt. When I start using the flashlight, I don the lanyard, which prevents my misplacing it. Sixth, it is perfect for storage between the mattress and box spring of my bed, with the lanyard partially sticking out, ready for instant use. ... show more

  • Awesome High Value Pen Light That You Should Already Own
Style: Non-Rechargeable Size: 100-Lumen Color: Black
Quick Review: Awesome, lightweight, durable, simple, reliable, cool, functional, and you should buy one now. Long Review: In the past few months I have bought 4 of these flashlights. In the past few years I have started an everyday carry system. I have always heard how useful a flashlight is to have on you at all times but never really got one because I though how useful it was considering I have an iPhone on me at all times. So the more I heard about the idea about carrying a flashlight as well as hearing about this flashlight I became intrigued. I saw this flashlight listed at around $20. Being a college student even this is relatively affordable. There was nothing I heard that made this seem like a bad product with reviews and such being very positive. So I puled the trigger on one. Not to sound cheesy but it really did change my life. I never knew how useful these things could be because they are slightly bigger than a pen with a ton of light being thrown out. Definitely an upgrade from the iPhone. This product is not the best out there but it is close. The only other main competitor (that I know of) is the Four Sevens Preon 2 being about the same size and weight. However it is twice as much being around $44. It has a much brighter light over 100 lumens, even though I have heard reviews say that in reality it is not brighter. Also the Preon 2 has different modes like high, mid, low ,sos and so on. This is definitely something to consider because if you have the extra money I would say go for it. It also looks fantastic and is very streamlined. Also the streamlight protac might be another option too. However, if your like me and want to save a few bucks this is the best option. It is slim, not much bigger than your standard pen, it is very simple, and it is rugged. It is also bright and the battery last longer than that you think. Im sure by now you can figure out that I really like this product however there is one small issue I have with it. That is the finish. I'm sure that the finish is great even compared to the competitors but while I had this in my pocket I noticed that the finished began to wear and wear fast. From the few months that I had it it look already a few years old due to it being beat up. I haven't used it a ton nor have I abused it. I think the wear was due to the fact I had a leatherman multi-tool in the same pocket so I don't blame it on the product itself. I was weary about the rubber tail cap getting worn out but I haven't seen much wear on that plus it is replaceable anyways. Other than that there are really no negative points. So overall for the money I have not seen anything that can beat this product. Also Streamlight has improved this model with a more powerful LED bumping the lumen count to 65 from 48. Not a huge upgrade but it still is better than nothing. Again the light is very powerful even for being only 65 lumens it definitely seems like more. It is a huge improvement over an iPhone or any cell phone camera for that matter, it just doesn't compare. I am more than happy to spend my money on this product and would do it again in a heartbeat. Since I got my first one I ended up getting another for myself as well as one for each of my parents. They also love theres although, not quite as much as I do. So in my honest opinion, just buy one. I promise it will be worth it. Oh did I mention it came with 2 Energizer batteries? Well played Streamlight, well played... NOTE: The picture is comparing the new light to the old one. As you can see the old one does have a significant amount of wear and scratches but it runs perfectly and I have no problems using it. ... show more

  • Indestructible
Style: Non-Rechargeable Size: 100-Lumen Color: Silver
I chose this over the rechargeable one because I did not want to deal with USB ports getting broken or rechargeable batteries going bad or even exploding in high heat. I wanted the most dead simple flashlight I could get, and it doesn't get simpler than some AAAs and an LED. This light fits well in my standard jeans pocket, its similar to a sharpie in size, but a little thicker. The pocket clip is my only real gripe, I think it can bend a little too easy and the flare at the end of the pocket clip gets caught on the hem of my shirt sometimes and the light gets pulled out of my pocket. This does not happen very often, just something I noticed. I also would have preferred that the clip was positively affixed with screws, because the clip can slide around and rotate around the body of the light. I fixed this on mine using epoxy in between the holes on the clip itself, almost like it was made to allow for that. Anyway, some epoxy made this a non-issue for me. This light is bright. It small, so set your expectations for a smaller flashlight but it will blow an iPhone flash out of the water. So much brighter than a phone. I love the durability of this light! It really shines here, no pun intended. I have used mine for about 8 months now, in heavy machinery, industrial control panels and electric gear, car mechanics, and all around the house. Its been dropped from high and low, it got crushed once when a motor fell on it, its been extremely hot too in the heat of a truck cab in the sun. Its been covered in oil, brake fluid, gear oil, coolant, and so much mud. It goes everywhere my hands go and has not skipped a beat. I just rinse it off afterwards and we are good to keep trucking. I was a little worried about the rubber over the button degrading in all this but it still feels new, no worries there. Not to mention that its replaceable so if it does go back into goop I will just replace it. If you do any work with your hands and need a flashlight, this is for you. You will wonder how you got this far with a phone flashlight. ... show more
