I filled half way with water and let this sit for 30 mins. Not a drop soaked through the back or leaked through the bottom. We normally use ice packs, but just incase you need to fill with ice. For the past 12 years as part of my non-profit business I have had to buy a number of backpack coolers for our youth fundraising organization to use for our frequent candy bar fundraisers. And I use them for personal use as well like taking walks or when we go camping or to an amusement park. I’ve had a lot of experience with different coolers so when I saw this Backpack Cooler Insulated Leak Proof 36 Cans Heavy-Duty Beach Cooler Bag from STOVER I decided it might just be a good, solid backpack to use with my youth program and I went ahead and requested it. I like the overall design of this backpack cooler as it keeps the items we are selling and the ice pack I use as well in each one well protected and also keep the items and ice pack just as cold for the same amount of time if not longer. I like how my ice pack I used in it stayed cold longer and how the inside is well insulated and leakproof so even with some condensation (less than other coolers though) I didn't have water leaking out of the bottom of the cooler. I like the outside look of the cooler with the blue color and orange color stripe and STOVER label on the front. I like how it’s made of a rugged nylon material that feels thick and durable. I like that it has a number of zippered pockets as you can see from my pictures which is something I always look for in a good quality backpack cooler and the top is doubled zippered which is a bonus since usually over time one of the zippers does break from frequent use (happens on all the backpack coolers I've bought) Nice mesh pockets on the side for water bottles or to hold other items! The front zipper pocket is huge and has more than enough room to hold a number of items like candy bars and an ice pack. I like how it has very thick and strong backpack straps for when you use it as a backpack but I like that it also has a carrying strap on the top. Definitely a well-made and durable insulated Backpack Cooler from STOVER that looks and feels like it will hold up well to a lot of use. 5 out of 5 stars. ... show more
