I absolutely love this piece! I have it up on the mantle along with some Christmas lights and it's my favorite lantern. It looks like an antique. The only issue with mine is that the latch doesn't hold so when I picked it up by the loop at the top the latch slipped and the glass fell out of the bottom and shattered all over the floor. I love it enough that I'm ordering a replacement. I'll just be a lot more careful handling it next time. I wouldn't have been able to hang this one though. It is very pretty. The top tilts. I tried using a short pillar candle, but it gets a little complicated to close the glass. I would recommend using votive. It isn't heavy or sturdy, but very light and delicate. Cute for a table.

This little lantern was even better in person than I had hoped. It is sturdy and well made. The glass is really thick and solid and the pattern on it is really cool. I love this so much, I may get another one and I think these would make a great gift for the ladies in your life. I have not yet tried a (fake) candle in it yet, as I am not sure I have one that will fit at the moment, but it really does not need a light in it to be cute.
