  • Replaced endpin Jack on J-45. Works perfectly!
Ripped the electronics out of my Gibson J-45 and needed a strap pin. This thing goes in with some ease. It’s a great design. I would buy it again if I need to.

  • Needed some woodworking skills
I bought this item to replace a circa 1991 Fishman Matrix pickup that died. I really don’t need to amp up this guitar, so instead of the $175 to replace the pickup, I brought the guitar back to its original state. The hole for the fishman was a tiny bit small, so having worked with wood, I was able to enlarge the hole with a 1/2” drill bit. I used a pair of small vise grips to hold the Allens wrench inside the guitar. Took about an hour to remove the old electronics and install the pin. All looks pretty good. Pin is very solid. Stew Mac website has a video on how to install the pin. Pros- does what it’s suppose to do. Cons- overpriced. I bought from Amazon for $20.20 and free shipping. Stew Mac, which sold and shipped the pin charges 14.45 on their website, but…..charges a whopping 10.99 to ship the thing. I find everything at Stew Mac way overpriced, but $10.99 to ship a piece about the weight of a pencil, wow. Depending on the size of the end plug your replacing, you may need to enlarge the hole. I used a new 1/2” drill bit, but had to run it through a few times to be able to push the pin in. Maybe a metric sized bit would be a bit larger or a 34/64 may be just right if you have one. Anyway I give the item 4 stars because of its price. ... show more

  • Works great, first great, looks great
There aren’t really a lot of options available to undo the half inch whole left by a no longer wanted acoustic pickup jack, but this does the job and looks good. It was pretty easy to install and is reversible should I ever want to put the pickup back. Oh yeah, and fast shipping. Thanks StewMac.

  • Fits like a glove
I recently purchased a Yamaha 12 string Guitar that didn't have an end plug. I realized that the hole was larger than normal so upon investigation, I realized this guitar had once had after market electronics on it and that the hole needed to be larger for the jack. I purchased the no Jak end pin in hopes that it would do the job. I found the right allen wrench and inserted the expandable piece in flush with the guitar body and then screwed the bolt into the end cap until it was properly and securely seated in place. It has taken me longer to type this review than it did to install the StewMac NoJak end pin. Great Product fits a niche! ... show more

  • Works but might require mods.
I was able to get the NoJak Endpin to work on my Guild D55 but not without sanding material off the strap button. Looks to me like a slightly larger hole is needed for this device(33/64"? I would have to specially order this drill bit) or the strap button and screw need to be a smaller diameter. Expansion sleeve fits fine into a 1/2" hole. Anyway, I was able to get it to work but not right out of the box. ... show more

  • Grossly overpriced
It worked fine but was priced 10X what it was worth

  • Flare out the pin whare it abuts the guitar
Worked as designed ,however the Strap hook or pin should be wider than the speed bushing. With a 1/2" hole and a 1/2" pin when tightening it will try to suck the pin in the hole.
