  • Great for storage and moving items around.
Size: 40 gal Style: 2-Pack Pattern Name: Tote
Purchased these to move items from the shed and garage to our new home. Needed storage and these are working great for us. Sturdy and durable for our use. Very handy having the handle and wheels for when it became heavy. Pulled it right up the ramp of the moving truck and wheeled it off just as easy. We are volunteer missionaries and use these also for when we are moving supplies, tools, and donated items to various locations in the Dominican Republic. Zip ties or locks add additional security during transport. Included photos to gauge how much useable space is inside. ***If you find my review helpful, please hit the “YES” button in response to the question!!*** ... show more

  • Incredible value, very large, great features.
Size: 40 gal Style: 2-Pack Pattern Name: Tote
I bought this item to replace and upgrade a set of slightly smaller Rubbermaid bins. These are approximately the same wall thickness and overall strength. That is to say they are sturdy but flex slightly. (this is not a Pelican case with it attendant weight and cost). Its feature set is killer: - Great handle that limits bending over. - "c" shaped clamps that snap shut and hold the lid tightly - two small, wide recessed wheels are protected from impacts and ease mobility - four holes accept locks or bungee hook tiedown hooks - three pairs of recesses in the top retain straps. - relatively vertical sides are efficient with space (vs. Plano sportsmans' locker). - recessed lid accepts stacking Cons: - recessed lid will collect rainwater - somewhat thin walls make this less durable than, say, a Frontrunner crate or pelican case I believe that these could be roof mountable to a cage or slat rack if tied down well. This is great for organizing stuff for ease of moving . I'm using it for bulky car camping stuff like sleeping bags and pads. Will get more to organize other stuff that needs to be moved around. Its storage oriented but allows for efficient and secure transport. ... show more

  • very good boxes. oh yes, the BOXES are good. JUST THEM. the boxes.
Size: 40 gal Style: 2-Pack Pattern Name: Tote
i bought a pair of these bad boys when they were going for 50 bucks, together. it was a steal for what i got. the things are sturdy, well made, have heavy duty handles and wheels, and i filled them with books immediately to put into storage. damn things were heavier than, well, they were damned heavy. but the boxes held up great. wheels, so amazing not the have to carry boxes full of books. i get tired just thinking about it. not here is the bad part. i tried to purchase a second set of these things, for the holder 50 dollar price, but found out 3 weeks later (with no notification from the seller) that they had cancelled my order on their end. i didnt know why, and they didnt tell me. they just did it. and amazon eventually contacted me and told me that it happened. which sucked. when i go to purchase them again, thinking it was a mistake, i find that the price shot up 20 dollars, and realized that the company likely cancelled my order to increase the price, which is kidna dirty. i was gonna say the "s" word, but im kinda hoping this review goes under the radar so people can see what happened, and curse words might get flagged. anyway, kinda bad, but the boxes arent the problem. they are damn good boxes. also, as it stands i wouldnt buy the boxes at this price. i say hell yes for 50 bucks, hell no for 70. ... show more

  • Sterilite quietly changed plastic types - do not buy anymore if you need durability
Size: 15 gal Style: 6-Pack Pattern Name: Tote
Sometime in the last 12 months, Sterilite changed the material they used to produce these bins. They used to be extremely durable and sturdy with a very respectable weight limit for their size -- very true to its "industrial" moniker, as many other reviews point out. But with no change whatsoever in the marketing, Sterilite began using a thinner, weaker, and entirely different type of plastic with drastically reduced stability and durability. The old material was polypropylene (evident from the #5 PP recycling logo on the bottom), the same type of plastic used in coolers, trash bins, pitchers, car batteries, various types of fittings, and model aircraft. Things that need the strength. This material is naturally pretty stiff and resistant. The new material is low-density polyethylene (#4 LDPE), which is naturally very flexible. This is the same plastic used in tubing, flexible snap-on lids, squeezable food containers, etc., but its biggest use is in all sorts of bags -- produce bags, bread bags, trash bags, etc. Mostly things that are meant to be flexible. (Google for "plasticology 101" for a site explaining the varying durability characteristics between plastics. The content is not mine in any way, but it is helpful and thorough.) As an example of the stunning weakness of this newer version, one of the totes I just purchased was bowed out on all 4 sides to the point that I could press against either side of each of its walls to bow/pop it out in the opposite direction. The sides are literally curved, except around the corners. Bottom line: DO NOT PURCHASE these if you need a durable bin/tote. This is by no means an industrial strength container anymore, and calling them industrial should be considered false advertising. ... show more
