I always seem to find myself in need on a specialty item and end up paying a premium for it - until now. We live in Michigan but own property in Florida. We also only drive to Florida. We needed to mount a cellular/solar security camera out at our property and needed a ladder to do this. This is exactly what we needed that would fit in the back of our Honda CRV to take with us. It takes up very little room and isn't too heavy. It telescopes to whatever height you need, 12 feet maximum, and easily retracts back down to a small size for storage. It felt sturdy and comfortable climbing it and I weigh 180 pounds. The only drawback was when the top of the ladder leans against a tree, due to it being aluminum, the top slid back and forth very easily so I had to have someone hold onto the ladder for safety. I complete home inspections and drive a Jeep Wrangler for work. This collapsible ladder allows me to keep it inside the Jeep, rather than having to build or buy a rack. Expands and retracts easily and safely, and while not as sturdy as a regular extension ladder, it is safe for me to climb on roofs for inspections.     • One major issue- cannot expand from the top

I've been wanting one of these ladders to use for getting up into my attic and doing other projects around the house. I found the ladder to be pretty sturdy, though not as much as a Little Giant type ladder, but was much more compact. One big problem is you cannot start extending the ladder with the top rung- it will not lock and you need to start at the base. This makes it difficult if you need to use it at its full height, and do not have enough space to lay it flat to extend compeletely. Apparently, this is by design, and I've learned to live with it by using a pole to push up the top 2 rungs but it just makes no sense to me. ... show more

When I used this ladder, the 4th rung from the top didn't latch correctly. You can see in the second picture that those red catches don't drop down on that lower rung and actually catch. This makes the rungs above this one unstable and susceptible to folding up. I found that out the hard way! Now those "catches" won't easily release the rungs above it, so the 1st picture shows my ladder now fully retracted. I can't move the top 3 rungs down (but I'm not going to stand them!). I wrote to the manufacturer, through Amazon and sent them these pictures, and I received No Response. I'd stay away from these guys. If you get a defective ladder, you'll get no response from them and you'll be out about $150! Be fore-warned. --UPDATE-- - I gave this product 1 Star when I wrote the above review. Perhaps 2 weeks after I tried contacting the seller and subsequently posting the above review, the Seller did get in contact with me. He gave 2 fairly convincing reasons for the delay. One was Chinese New Year had about everything shut down and the second was health and Covid quarantine issues. The Seller did give me the option of replacing the ladder (w/o a return) or a refund (w/o a return). I chose the refund and a few days later the cost was credited back to my credit card. And the Seller had done several followup emails to check on things. So, I'll give Customer Service (even though delayed) 5 Stars and the ladder 1 Star which averages to 3 Stars. I feel certain at this point that if you buy this ladder and aren't satisfied for whatever reason the Seller will try to make things right with you. ... show more
