She was able to read an interpret the assembly directions with minimal help. When complete, we figured out she got something wrong, but she can disassemble and correct it. My 7 year old twins had a blast with these and it was a weekend project! They did need assistance a few times but they were able to do the majority of the assembly. The media could not be loaded. As does my elementary ESE class (grades 1-5). Every robot has worked well. I cannot really judge the instructions - probably simple enough but I don't know what I'm doing and I'm afraid I'll break something (but I haven't yet!) Bought this as a gift for a nephew that lives putting things together. As soon as he opened it he wanted to put all the robots together. Some assistance was required from an adult as some pieces were too tiny for him to manage on his own but overall he did it solo. Couldn't wait to show me all his little functioning robot buddies. Well, the box came for a Christmas present and it is really small. I gave it a 3 only because in order to be 5 /6 robotic they have to be really small. My fault for not looking at size. We will see.

    • Intuitive and creativity inspiring
My 8year old son loved this. He made the first bit according to instructions but after investigating how each robotic part worked he started creating his own robots and machines. I was really impressed with how interchangeable the parts were and how independently he played with it- for hours!
