Challenging for a 7 year old, but grandpa (who is meticulous) worked with him. Things were going well until they realized 2 little parts were missing. It has halted all the building. We got a call from our kids and they told us the grandkids say this is lots of fun and that they've been playing with it all week. That's enough of a recommendation for me. We sent it as a gift for the 6 year-old's birthday, but the two boys often play together. How long it will last, we'll see, but a week solid play sounds like a good start. ... show more

This is a pretty good product but it is harder to put together than legos. The directions are a little less conceptual. I would put the age group 8-adult.
