  • A fun simple game great for travel
This is a fun and fairly simple game with enough strategy to give it some replay value. It goes quickly and fits in a pocket, which is the primary draw for us - we're more likely to take it out and play while we're waiting to be served at a restaurant than to get it out at home. Visually pleasing and relaxing to play! ... show more

  • Sweet and fun
This game was a hit this summer! It was always in my bag because it’s so small, so it got a lot of use. It was easy to learn and the rules as written (especially the added rules for the advanced game) are easy to remember and make for a really fun game. We also found ourselves making house rules, and if you enjoy that kind of thing this game really lends itself to it. I LOVE that there’s a rule/scoring card for each player because I’m always the one asking 300x how many points something is worth. I also enjoyed that while there’s one winner (unless you adapt to play collaboratively, which was also fun and worked well) it’s not COMPETITIVE; the pace is fairly slow (although it’s a short game) and there isn’t really a feeling that you’re “stealing” cards from other players if that makes sense. It was hard to feel confident in who was winning/would win until we scored the end of each round tbh, there are so many things to score that it kind of always feels like there’s a shot it might be you. And as a (huge, to me) bonus: the illustrations are VERY cute. ... show more

  • Not sweet and easy.
The cards are good quality and we love the artwork. But, while the rules seem fairly simple, the game play is not. My daughter (11) has been wanting a game for just the two of us to play together. I thought this would be a cute and simple option. It is not though. It requires a lot of strategy and forethought. My daughter got super anxious and we had to stop playing. ... show more

  • Clever design, lots of complexity in a small package
I was very impressed with this game. The designers packed in a lot of complexity in a small game. There are even advanced scoring rules available. The art on the face and backs of the cards is beautiful and clever (sunrise, noon, sunset). The design of this game, overall, is clever. I would agree with the other reviewers who said the game is not that simple, but for me that's a good thing. It's just maybe a caution for people buying for kids who are at Go-fish or War card games' complexity level. This is a little trickier in spacial planning and strategy. But it's also not that complicated to understand either. I would also agree with other reviewers that the cards are slippery, but for me it was manageable and not too bad. I really like this game and have played it alone for practice, with coworkers at lunch, and with friends. I even gave it as a gift to a friend. I think it played well with both 2 and 4 players. I am happy to have this game in my collection. ... show more

  • fun and a great thinker game
It is a great game to take on the go, size of a deck of cards but you will need table space to play. this is a good game for kids and adults to develop planning skills for spacial awareness of how the game "grows". each time you play it is different because you build your own garden patch in front of you. ... show more

  • Pretty and unexpectedly challenging!
The game is beautifully designed and illustrated. It's surprisingly slow paced, since we took a lot of care with card choice and placement in each turn. I liked this almost meditative aspect, but it definitely is a game that you'd like to play when you are not in a rush and have a bit of time to think and enjoy building your little garden. ... show more

  • Difficult
I would describe this game as pretty but difficult. It took us a few rounds to figure out all the rules, but in doing so ended up with a strange garden. We might have gotten it wrong because, like I said, it is a difficult game. Make up your own rules, especially if playing with children.

  • Challenging
Really fun, simple, yet not easy, nor boring.
