While these are described for "men" these are really unisex work boots. My oldest daughter works in the "food industry" and manages a good size team. My daughter requires really supportive shoes and needs protection for her feet, as she was born with a disability and ensuring she wears the most supportive shoes is very important to me. I found these steel toe boots and from what I read on the product description, it seemed like a great choice for her. Below, I will further outline the other reasons these are the boots we decided on. *Design: Excellent design-Great structure-Strong steel toe which gives her great protection-Lightweight *Functionality: Steel toe- widened toe area- comfortable while very supportive *Style: these are very stylish looking compared to some other work boots. These are designed like designer boots. Kudos on this. *Material: these are made with premium leather material and breathable material. Memory foam insoles *Safety: non-slip rubber sole - these really do work great- she hasn't had any issues with slips. *Impact resistant - puncture resistant *Lining is very comfortable - she can wear these for hours upon hours and her feet do not hurt at the end of the day *Uses: these can be worn for work purposes, camping, hiking and so much more *Shaft height: calf high *ASTM and CSA certified - credible certification All in all, I feel that this was a really good decision for my daughter. She is impressed and wished she had these years ago. The material is superb and made durably. I did not find any issues of defects, misaligned stitching, tears or stains that would otherwise lessen the overall value of these boots. My daughter actually said, these are the best work shoes she has ever worn. With that, I'm a happy Mom and based on her satisfaction with these, I do recommend these to other consumers. Have you ever gotten a new pair of shoes and you're a little apprehensive? Perhaps you're worried they won't fit well, that they will be too tight, or that some other feature may be less than perfect? Well, when I first put these on, all of my worries melted away. These are amazingly comfortable boots. I wear size 12. I ordered size 12 and they fit perfectly. There is plenty of toe room. They are surprisingly lightweight - lighter than they look. But yet they have steel toe protection and sturdy soles. I appreciate the ankle support. These may be marketed as work boots. But for me, they are my new go-to hiking boots. I love how easy they are to lace up with the last three pairs of lace hooks which make it quick and easy to put on and lace up. I appreciate the pull tab on the back. The bottoms are super grippy with great treads. I love that they are breathable. Overall, I unable to find any fault with these boots. They are the most comfortable hiking boots I've ever owned...and I've owned quite a few over the years. I think the price is excellent considering the quality and comfort these boots offer. I really wanted to enjoy the Kelodon steel toe boots as they have steel toes and a puncture resistant sole. Unfortunately there were several issues that dropped some stars. What is great about these boots? 1. They are comfortable. With the adjustable lacing, wide toe box, and well designed boot top, the boots are easy to wear all day. 2. The steel toe helps when working around lumber and other construction material 3. The sole has good grip under most situations. There are a few design issues that lowered the rating. 1. They are too flexible. A work boot should not let you directly feel a small rock when you step on it. Using a shovel should spread the load across the boot instead of the specific section you are stepping with. 2. The sole is too wide. This affects things like climbing on ladders, stepping through construction sites, or even driving your vehicle. It's too easy to catch the edge of the boot on things. 3. The smell. I must have received a pair that just arrived from manufacturing. There was an overwhelming glue smell that eventually dissipated after several days on a boot dryer. It's good that they are using a quality/strong glue, but it's hard to be around. ... show more
