  • Sturdy and long tines make this useful for hay and long grass clippings
From the looks of the medium-weight tines on this rake, I thought it would fill a perfect niche for raking up lawn clippings and hay from my acreage. In its product photos, the rake seemed to be halfway between garden and a leaf rake, and thus in a welcome niche for my landscaping efforts. Assembling the parts took me about 20 minutes, and then I tested it on some wet hay, and voila -- the tines were strong as expected and sturdy. Indeed it fills the niche I envisioned. All hardware was present. Instructions were adequate. I do think I will get hold of some thread locker to keep the screws in the threads of the crosspiece, because the pressure on the tines may cause them to loosen over time. • Sturdy and Versatile Steel Leaf Rake
The LMYYGOO Steel Leaf Rake with a 60" Epoxy Handle and 19.6" head has proven to be quite versatile for various yard tasks. The stiff tines are particularly useful for not only raking leaves but also mixing soil, moving mulch, and compost. This added rigidity makes it a more functional tool for diverse garden work. However, the handle, which screws together in sections, has come loose with heavy use. This raises some concerns about its long-term durability. While it seems strong initially, frequent tightening might be necessary to ensure it remains secure over time. Overall, this rake is effective and versatile, but the sectional handle may require occasional maintenance to keep it tight and functional. ... show more

  • Not a leaf rake, more like a bow rake
The product description says this is a leaf rake. There are pictures showing this rake being used on the lawn raking leaves. It is not possible to use this rake on the lawn. The metal tines are rigid and will rip the grass out the ground. The rake is closer to a bow rake, which is more suited to landscaping tasks than raking leaves. However, the handle is too short. I’m 5’8” and I have to hunch over to use the rake. The handle should be at least 6 inches to 1 foot longer to be able to use comfortably. Assembly is required before use. The instructions are incomprehensible, but it is not very difficult for mechanically inclined individuals. Ten screws are used to lock down the tines. I can see the screws coming loose over time and getting lost in the field. This is not a robust design. The rake is pretty solid when assembled. The tines are thick and strong and there is a good amount of weight at the head. I’m deducting one star for the short handle, one for the design and one for saying it is a leaf rake when it is not. ... show more

  • Price does not reflect quality
For the price I figured it would be mostly assembled but it comes in pieces. It isn't that easy to put together and it requires quite a bit of time. It doesn't come with tools and you have to screw in every tine. I don't think I would order this again at this price point. The pros - the handle and tines are very high quality. It is very different than what I am used to but it works great. The tines are pretty stiff and thick - nice wide head. I expected to have to put the handles together and on the rake so was surprised to have to put all the tines in. If it would have come that way I would have given it a much higher score. ... show more

  • Heavy duty professional guality rake
Easy to assemble with heavy duty semi flexible tines. Here in southern Georgia we have a lot of pine trees that are dropping pine cones all the time, great for getting them cleaned up. Excellent quality product.

  • High quality metal rake, but I wish I had another one about half of its size
The media could not be loaded. This thing is great for bigger jobs, but I have a smaller backyard and as helpful as it is, I wish they made one about half that size or even a fourth of that size. In the areas where I can use it, I can’t tell you how much better it actually is to have those teeth, pulling dirt and leaves and all sorts of other stuff. My wife and I spend a lot of our free time in our backyard enjoying the water features and our plants and we love to fertilize them and keep everything looking nice. At the end of the day, we love to go out and have a beverage and just enjoy it. This metal rake does exactly what we needed to do and I’m going to give it a five out of five. ... show more

  • DIY Rake?
I was a bit taken back when I discovered that I had to assemble this steel leaf rake. It took a little time but with my cordless screwdriver I managed to get it done without too much trouble. I am not completely happy with the handle attachment, which is not as tight as I would like it, allowing the handle to wiggle a bit. Nevertheless, it should be secure enough to do the job. The tines are very strong. I was able to move/smooth river rock without difficulty. It should work very well for spreading soil and mulch. I imagine it will work well for raking leaves. Time will tell if the tines stay in place during heavy jobs, but they are sure not to bend. Overall, I am satisfied with this steel leaf rake and am sure that it will get lots of use. ... show more
