  • Great Product, Poor shipping
Very happy with the product and price and speed of delivery. Not happy with the puncture in the bag. It was delivered in an Amazon box with a DVD box and NO packing material. The box was so big that the contents of the two products were able to bounce around during delivery. Not sure if the puncture happened in delivery, at the Amazon facility or from delivery to Amazon. Since not much of the product was spilled, I was able to use packing tape to seal the bag of powder. ... show more

  • organic and kosher!
Certified organic and kosher! Love that I get an origin of where the flax comes from (India) and that it’s stored in a bag that is silver and therefore the product is not exposed to light. I know the listing says the flax powder is good for a year but I’m unsure if that means a year from opening the bag or a year from the bag being packed. If it’s the latter, I wish my bag would say when it was packed, because it doesn’t. Hoping to use the bag up ASAP so it doesn’t go to waste. Will try making flax sourdough bread with this since it’s ground up so fine!! ... show more

  • Very finely ground; not great for making flax “eggs” for baking
I’ve eaten flax seeds for many years, and usually keep on hand a jar of whole flax seeds (to add to smoothies) as well as a container of ground flax seeds (to make flax “eggs” for baking and other uses where whole seeds aren’t convenient). Normally, the ground flax seed I use (sometimes called flax meal) is much coarser. I’ve never tried a flax seed powder that’s this fine or uniform. It has a similar texture and appearance to other ground spices, like cinnamon. Because it’s so fine, it doesn’t work well for making flax “eggs” - I have to add a lot more water than I would with flax meal, and the resulting lumpy paste is the wrong texture and is hard to mix into certain recipes. I could see this being a great product if you want extra omega 3’s and fiber but want to hide the fact that a dish or smoothie contains flax. The flavor seems pretty neutral/flaxy. ... show more

  • Exactly as Shown
This flax seed powder is slightly darker than the golden flax seed, although it tastes the same and has the same properties. The powder smells and tastes fresh, and is packaged in a large, resealable bag. This review represents my opinion, on the date(s) it was written, of a free product from Amazon Vine Program. ... show more

  • Finely ground flax made in India.
This is pulverized flax seed. I like the quality a lot, plus the fact it’s so finely ground. The flax was grown in India.

  • Origin? BB Date?
If you're looking at this, you already know the wonderful benefits of flaxseed. You probably also know that flaxseed goes rancid rapidly due to the oil content. Use it up fast especially if it's ground. Although it had a decent smell when I opened the bag, I couldn't find a Best buy date or where the seed itself originated. I like a lot of transparency with my supplements so this bothered me, although it might not be something that is an issue for you. The bag itself looked as if it had been through quite a bit before I received it. Crinkled and such, which also raises the question of how old it was. ... show more

  • Not Flax Meal But POWDER
I had no idea flax powder was a thing. I made the assumption this was meal which is a coarser grind. This is powder. Fine and dusty. I use meal in a certain kind of cracker that I bake every week. Will try this to see if it works. Starwest products are always good, so it should be a success.
