  • Not a Treky but…
Not a Treky but I really enjoy this show! I know Strange New Worlds did receive some criticism but honestly this is the only StarTrek show I’ve ever really had fun watching and really helped me understand the federation in a more positive light that I never understood before. They did a fantastic job on the writing, set, cast, cinematography and the costumes. It’s a very visually appealing show and it had a really nice modern feel to it. I like that it didn’t have an “overly pandering element” to the story and all characters really held their own and treated each other with respect. I really appreciated that. The story does a good job of focusing on several members of the crew and their story arcs. Ended up really liking all the members of the crew. Captain Pike was a great leader character. He seemed liked he really cared for each one of his crew members where other captains kind of treated some of them as disposable. Also liked his dad joke vibe with his epic Jonny Bravo hair cut that brought it all together. The other low key elements I really liked about the first couple seasons was how they turned the usually logical and stuffy Spock into the desired unofficial sex symbol of the show was brilliant! They touched on Spock’s human side better than any of the other shows have prior to this with style. It’s about time we stop making sexy characters just for the sake of having sexy characters! Smart and logical needed a stronger emphasis as being sexy in the world we live in today. All around great show to watch when you’d like to chill out after a day of work! This is a ridiculous review that I wrote knowing that hardly anyone would read this for a hard copy of a show but this is what I did today instead of doom scrolling. So live long and prosper! ... show more

  • Finally, an enjoyable Star Trek show
I watched Discovery & Picard, hoping they would eventually get better, & was disappointed. This time around I actually wanted to watch these 10 episodes. Anson Mount was perfect casting as Christopher Pike, & Ethan Peck is an awesome Spock, even better than Zachary Quinto, though Zachary looks more like Leonard Nimoy. This is the only Star Trek show I actually miss. I haven't felt this way about Star Trek in many years. ... show more

  • Wish there was a gag reel, but solid season of SNW
The episodes themselves, GREAT. HIGH-LARIOUS even. Won't spoil them here. (some fans divided, but I'm all for it). I have to dock it points for not having a Gag Reel (and no, the unused scenes do not count)

  • DON'T EVER DO THAT AGAIN
I will not give anything away to those who have not seen Season Two of Star Trek Strange New World. All I can say to Disc Three... DON'T EVER DO THAT AGAIN. In my opinion, that was embarrassing. And to all of those who HAVE seen Season Two, I think you'll agree with me. That was downright painful to watch. Other than that, my God, there's some SERIOUS acting-chops going on in this season. ... show more
